This is a short video of our trip to Kuruva Island (Kuruvadweep) Wayanad. Kuruvadweep / Kuruva Islands is a 950-acre protected river delta on the Kabini River in the Wayanad .The island surrounded by streams and river can be accessed using rafts or fiber boats run by Kerala Tourism Department.Kuruva Islands is 17 km east of Mananthavady

Entrance to the Kuruva island is restricted and monitored by Vana Samrakshana Samiti, a Kerala Forest Department initiative to protect forest.The entrance time for the tourists at Kuruva Island is from 9.00 AM to 4.00 PM. The entrance fee is Rs.10. the same fee is applicable for the boat rides as well.

The main theme is a nature walk.You can either tour the Kuruva island all by yourself or seek the service of a local guide. There are designated areas and paths in the island for the walk. No partying, or no picnic is allowed inside the island. It’s all about enjoying the pristine nature in its raw form.At the end you would have walked about 3 to 5 kilometers and finished the walk in about 2 to 3 hours.

Kuruva Islands are excellent spots for River Rafting in Kerala. For these special Bamboo boats are available at kuruva island . The tourists can raft through the waters of river Kabani. There are provisions for 10 persons to move through a single bamboo boat at a time. And the journey will be thrilling and full of excitement. So the tourists who love adventure can surely do River Rafting att Kuruva Islands
