Ambientec has unveiled Barcarolle, the new portable lamp designed by Yoshiki Matsuyama, with immersive launch events in Tokyo and Berlin. Presented under the theme “Synesthesia”, the debut highlighted Barcarolle’s sculptural elegance and luminous versatility through a multisensory experience blending light, sound, and fragrance.

The Tokyo event took place at the Ambientec Gallery Tokyo within the AXIS Building in Roppongi. Designed by Koichiro Oniki and recently honoured with the Jury Prize at the Kukan Design Award 2025, the gallery offered a museum-like environment to showcase Barcarolle alongside the brand’s collections. Site-specific fragrances by FUEGUIA, inspired by Light, Water, and City, and the musical composition “Barcarole” by German musician Felix Rösch, complemented the lamp’s warm, even, and glare-free illumination.

Following Tokyo, Barcarolle was presented at Minotti Berlin, where its refined glow was highlighted in an installation emphasising intimate and contemplative atmospheres. The lamp’s design, inspired by European streetlights and the verticality of a candle, features a thin glass diffuser, zinc-alloy metallic details, and is available in four heights, including a dome-topped model, suitable for both private and theatrical lighting settings.

Barcarolle exemplifies Ambientec’s philosophy of light as a perceptual and emotional experience, merging poetry, form, and functionality. Its international debut underscores the brand’s global positioning and commitment to creating sculptural, sensory-driven lighting.
