The world’s first ‘immersive art exhibition’ held in Takanawa, Tokyo… Over 60 works showcasing 30 years of creative activity unveiled

Johnny DeppJohnny Depp”I started seriously painting after turning 30″… A serious confession from ‘artist’ Johnny Depp, not just a Hollywood star

Hollywood’s maverick Johnny Depp (62) set foot in Japan for the first time in 8 and a half years. Although he arrived an hour and a half late, he captivated the waiting reporters and fans with his unique charisma and relaxed smile.

On the 27th, a press conference was held to commemorate the opening of Johnny Depp’s immersive art exhibition ‘A Bunch of Stuff – Tokyo’ at the complex facility ‘NEUMAN Takanawa’ in Tokyo Takanawa.

◆ “Sorry for being late”… Coolness maintained despite a 90-minute delay

The venue was packed with reporters eager to see Johnny Depp. However, the star only appeared about 1 hour and 30 minutes after the scheduled time. After a long wait, he appeared wearing sunglasses, waved, and expressed his apologies and gratitude, filling the room with the sound of camera shutters.

Johnny Depp expressed his special affection for Japan. He stated, “Tokyo has always been a place that sends out great art,” and explained why he chose Tokyo as the first overseas location for this exhibition, saying, “Japan is rich in emotion and, above all, a place that truly values artists.”

◆ 30 years as an ‘artist’, not just an actor

This exhibition is a long-term project that will run from the 28th until May 6, 2026, for about 6 months. More than 60 paintings and related materials, including unpublished works that have never been taken out of the studio, will be displayed.

Johnny Depp recalled the background of his creation, saying, “I have loved doodling and pencil drawings since I was young.” He continued, “I started using paint to create paintings after turning 30. I have been continuously moving my hands, experimenting with various colors and techniques,” sharing his serious philosophy about art.

◆ Walking through Johnny Depp’s atelier

The exhibition space is designed to provide visitors with an immersive experience, as if they have been invited into Johnny Depp’s actual atelier. The unique objects and vibrant artworks reveal his inner world as an artist, not just as actor Johnny Depp.

This exhibition, held for the first time outside the U.S., will operate from 10 AM to 9 PM (last entry at 8 PM), and is expected to provide fans with a special opportunity to meet another side of him beyond the screen.
