A staffer at the restaurant alerted the police around 7:50 p.m. Firefighting was still in progress as of 11p.m., but the blaze has largely been brought under control.
Police say over 60 people who were in the restaurant at the time, including the staff, evacuated without injury.
Firefighters say more than 20 emergency vehicles, including fire engines, rushed to the scene.
