I Tried All The Best Food In Tokyo, Japan! | Part 1
If we don’t get to our pancake spot in about 3 minutes, we’re going to lose our reservation that we got up at 6:00 a.m. to go secure and prepaid. That cat’s a troublemaker. Like in the cutest way possible. We got to go in. I don’t think I’m going to fly home with a cat. But uh that thing was cute as hell. I haven’t been this excited for travel in years. I haven’t had this feeling of exploration and journey like a little kid. We made it to Tokyo. The food scene in Tokyo is out of this world. I’ve never been more excited to eat food in my life. And our goal is to eat as much food as humanly possible in 6 days and meet as many chefs as we can until we pass out and explode and go to Taiwan. That’s the goal. I’m ecstatic. Like I have actual just happiness shooting out of my face and my eyes right now. This is why we came to Japan was to have moments like this and create memories like this. There’s nothing like that early morning no food in you beer sip that kind of gets you buzzed off one sip. Bang bang. Now we are going to the pancake spot. Our reservation in 10 minutes. It’s a 7-minute walk. If we miss this, we are the biggest idiots of all time. Could you imagine? All right, so we’re going to lose our reservation. So here’s how it works. You wake up at 5:00 a.m. Mr. Snooze. You stand in a massive line to put your name down at 7:00. There are these super fluffy style pancakes that they make right in front of you at 7:45. They were fully sold out and you have to prepay for your pancakes. That’s crazy demand for a pancake. The only other place I’ve seen that is serious pizza. You walk in, you take a seat, then you order any kind of pancake they want. They homemake the dough right in front of you and they cook it on this six pancake griddle. placing the pancakes on the plates, topping them with all sorts of things. Salted, caramel, chocolate fudge, eggs, honey, holl sauce, and then they hand it to you. It kind of was like an omas bar, but pancakes. Yeah, it’s exactly what we do with sushi just with pancakes. Like that concept of an omas style pancake bar. Sick. Someone bring that to New York. Please make a lot of money. I’m not going to do it, but somebody do it and I’ll show up cuz it was good. We’re out. On my way to Japan, I’ve been hearing about this place a lot. It’s a homemade cola spot. Wow. Okay, we have a viper here sitting in this glass jar that somehow they’re going to infuse into our cola. Those two things aren’t really adding out to me. Parts of the scale of the pit viper. Let’s go. She takes these mysterious bags of liquid and pours them in these cups and then fills up your homemade cola. Here we go. Wow. Is it good? I’m not like a soda guy, but oh my god, this is so refreshing. This is like the greatest cola you’ll ever try in your life. I’m not quite sure what the Pit Viper Snake does. I think it’s just for the vibes. And it’s $13 just for this one bag of cola. Okay, let’s go. Let’s go. You’ll see yourself there. Thank you. Shibuya crossing. The Shibuya crossing. The Shabuya Crossing. Shabuya Crossing. The Shabuya Crossing. Shabuya Crossing. A worldwide phenomenon. And one of the most treacherous stretches of pavement on Earth. Here, thousands surge forward at once. A tidal wave of humanity. All racing against the same blinking red light. One wrong step and you’re swallowed whole. A heartbeat of Tokyo. Pulsing, relentless, impossible to stop. Locals glide through like seasoned warriors. Newcomers freeze in terror, swept away by the current. It’s not just a crosswalk. It’s a test of instinct, precision, and survival. But if you do survive it, it’s basically the gateway to some really dope food. Tokyo is the land of food opportunity. We’re walking through this mall and on the way out I saw this JB’s bakery and burger joint and the vibes were just drawing me in. They’re homemaking the buns here in the window smashing the patties which look they have a lot of fat on them which I like to see. Usually a patty is like maybe 8020. This looks more like a 7030 or 6040 lean fat. I’m very curious about this bun cropped in. Here’s the burger here. Bun seems super airy. Let’s give it a try. The bun’s super light. The meat smashed well, but not too smashed. It’s also a good amount of juice in it. The sauce is great. I’m a big fan of this. A good burger. One of the dishes that I was most excited to try in Tokyo is the unagi bowl. Supposedly behind me is the best unagi bowl in Tokyo. It looks delicious. We’re going to go try it. This is madness. People are sitting inside of the unagi bar smoking sigs. Meanwhile, you got this swaggy ass Japanese dude in a three-foot kitchen back there filling up these bowls with rice higher than Mount Fuji and then topping them with eel. What more could you really ask for when you go to Tokyo? Wow, that is incredible. That’s what life’s about. A bunch of saporos with your friends. Cheers to that. You know this is about to hit. That’s the best one yet. And the dude bringing up here was the ultimate vibe. I’ve actually waited so long to try this bite of food. Like you guys don’t understand. I’ve been dreaming about this bite of that bite was everything I dreamed of. That bite is honestly one of the reasons I flew to Tokyo was to experience this warm unagi that just melts in your mouth with the delicious bowl of heaping rice underneath. Oh my god, the sauce that they put on top of the eel is incredible. Wow. I feel like shockingly I’m such a messy eater on camera, but I feel like I actually was pretty not messy there. Shut the up. All right, we have a dice app here. Phil is one, Liv’s two, Cam’s three, Jasper’s four, Jack’s five, Alex is six. We’re going to do one roll. If you get your number chosen, you chug the beer. Ready? I knew it. I knew it. I knew it. Cheers. There we go. Okay. All right. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Is really all I could say. That was a incredible moment and time with the boys. We drank 5,000 beers, ate 100 unagi bowls. Camd us and ordered 20 more beers on top of the thousand we drank. Liam had to chug one. And I had the time of my life. That was the highlight of the one-day trip so far. But wait, there’s more. We’re about to go to our second dinner of the night at This is our sixth dinner. Easily our sixth dinner. We’re going to Iora Genshi Sumiyaki Ginsa something. They give you so much salmon row that they have to put your bowl on top of a plate to catch the overflow. To be honest, I might throw up, but we’lling see. We’re out. Let’s go. Let’s go. This might be my favorite spot in Tokyo. It’s actually the very first restaurant I ever ate at my first trip here. Spot where we’re supposed to like slam beers and eat like grilled meats. It’s [ __ ] awesome. Or so because for context, we’ve already had about nine beers at the Unagi spot. Heads, tails. Cam [ __ ] us and ordered 20 more beers on top of the thousand we drank. Your soul shalom. is actually going on right now. This is the most insane thing I’ve ever experienced. Look at how much salmon r you have here. Honestly, I was kind of tired, but all of a sudden, I’m fired the [ __ ] up. I’m ready to go. Y Oh, look at the steam from the rice. The salmon eggs are so beautiful. But I’m a fan. It’s kind of like pop rock in your mouth. What’s growing on me? The more bites I’m taking, it’s getting better and better. New York. New York. New York. Japanese famous singer. Famous. Oh, really? Okay. All right. Wow, that was another great one. I mean, it was just a beer fest down there. It was kind of like October Fest just in Japan. It was a great experience. We’re about to run it back tomorrow. I need to sleep. I I can’t think about it. So, we’re in 7-Eleven. We saw this delicious looking fluffy bread. It smells so absolutely scrumptious. That’s paper. That is paper. We dodged that bullet. We dodged that bullet. Listen. Listen. Oh no. Why is he laughing? What are you laughing about? Tastes like bread. We thought it was going to be so much better, but it just tastes like just bread. It just tastes like bread. Just bread. A little bit like sweeter than normal. We thought it was going to be like a delicious pound cake. And I thought this was for sure a generational poundake. Instead, I was greeted with Wonderbread. Generational bounty. Oh my days. It was so bite just confirms the sadness dream in the back here. Oh man. Hopes and dreams in the river of sadness. Dude, fix your hat. Look at your hat. Yeah. Chef Paulo, please. We flew to Japan to try some of the best Wagu beef in the world. I had no idea what I was walking into. This is electric. It’s the craziest burger I’ve ever seen. The owners brought us to their secret restaurant and you walk in and it’s like the vibiest, coolest, you know, dining room ever. Oh my god. I’ve never This place ising heavy. I think you got two, three bites before you just pass out. This is a lot heavier than it looks. I’m so pancakes. Comes with a whole stick of butter. That was too much, bro. That was too hard. Oh my god. I’ve never seen that in my life.
