Nippon-Ham pitcher Mizuki Hori went to ESCON on the 25th to renew his contract and signed for 28 million yen (estimated amount), a decrease of 5 million yen.
In 2021, he won the Best reliever pitcher Award with 3 wins and 39 hold. However, this season he has not been able to show his full potential with ERA of 16.20 in two games pitched, and commented, “Throughout the year, I was doing exactly what I wanted in the farm team, but I wasn’t able to perform at the same level in the first team. When I heard that I was down, I thought, well, that’s to be expected.”
Even so, he has steadily worked on his weight training, and this season he recorded a fastest speed of 151 km/h. “I think I’ve been in a slump since winning the title, so I want to show that I’ve improved even more in the first team,” he vowed to bounce back next season.
