A tragic incident in Japan has left one person dead and 10 others injured after a car drove into a crowd.
In the heart of Tokyo, around a dozen pedestrians were struck before the driver attempted to make a run for it.
An elderly man, believed to be in his 80s, was walking on the street at the time of the crash and is thought to have died from the impact at 12.30pm on Monday in the city’s Adachi Ward.
A young woman in her 20s was also discovered unconscious and in a serious state before being rushed to hospital, where she continues to receive treatment.
Tokyo Police officers managed to apprehend the suspect approximately 500m from the scene. The man has since been arrested, reports the Mirror.
