On the 21st, Nippon-Ham announced that pitcher Aneurys Zabala and Drew VerHagen, as well as development pitcher Micah Yonamine, would be leaving the catcher.

Verhagen, who is expected to earn 350 million yen this season, was in the opening rotation but lacked stability, going 3-3 with a 6.08 ERA in six appearances. Zavala, in his second year in Japan, only made two appearances in the first team with a 3.86 ERA.

The four foreign players who have been confirmed to remain with the team next season are Reyes, Martinez, Ruei-Yang Gu Lin, and Yi-Lei Sun.
