AIN gymnast Arsenii Dukhno and Japan’s Manamino Yumo captured gold in the men’s and women’s all-around finals, respectively, at the Junior World Championships in Manila on Saturday.

The 17-year-old Dukhno, who ranked first in qualifications, totaled 82.031 to best silver medalist Ojima Nao of Japan (81.799) and bronze medalist Yang Lanbin of China (81.099). Ojima and Yang qualified third and second, respectively, to the final. Matching his qualifications ranking, Danila Leykin of the U.S. placed fourth.

Born August 5, 2008, Dukhno placed first all-around, and first on floor exercise, vault and parallel bars, in the 16-17 age group at this year’s Russian Junior Championships. He was also first all-around at the 2023 Russia vs. China competition in Kazan, where Junior Worlds rivals Wang Chengcheng and Yang Lanbin placed third and fourth (tie), respectively.

Ojima, who was born February 1, 2008, earned all-around gold, and golds on floor exercise and horizontal bar, at this year’s Junior Asian Championships in Jecheon, Korea.

The 16-year-old Yang won all-around and team gold in the junior division at this spring’s DTB Pokal in Stuttgart, where Manila teammate Wang Chengcheng took all-around bronze. Wang placed ninth in the all-around final in Manila.

Minamino, who qualified third to the all-around final, bettered her qualifications score by 0.30 to total 53.632 and finish ahead of silver medalist Elena Colas of France (53.298). Bronze went to Nishiyama Misa of Japan (53.066), who qualified second.

In a reversal of their qualifications rankings, U.S. gymnasts Lavi Crain and Caroline Moreau finished fourth and fifth, respectively.

Born September 14, 2011, Minamino helped Japan win team silver earlier in the week.

Colas, who took all-around gold at the 2024 European Junior Championships and 2025 European Youth Olympic Festival, qualified first to the final. Two major errors on uneven bars and one on balance beam, however, cost her the victory.
