Visit California Holds ‘Club California’ Seminar for Japan Market; Japanese Travel Up 20% in August

On November 14, Visit California held the “Club California” travel seminar event. With the Marina del Rey Tourism Board participating for the first time, a record 18 suppliers delivered presentations.

Japanese travel to California is trending upward. In August of this year, it increased by 20% year-on-year, ranking fourth among source countries for that month.

Beyond general updates, this year’s presentations adopted a “food” theme, fitting for the United States’ top agricultural state. In addition to Napa Valley wines, fine dining, and Michelin-listed restaurants across the state, unique tips were shared: San Francisco’s cake picnic that proclaims “NO CAKE, NO ENTRY,” more than 20 breweries in Anaheim that offer a discount pass, and even the fact that you can enjoy winery-hopping in Los Angeles.
