Los Angeles City Council-member Ysabel Jurado received a giant letter from representatives of Little Tokyo Against Gentrification (LTAG) on Nov. 4. The letter is signed by “100 Voices from Little Tokyo” opposing the giant mega-mall project at 4th and Central to be built on the current Cold Storage warehouse property.

Legacy small businesses like Azay Restaurant, Blooming Arts, and Rafu Bussan; tenants from Little Tokyo Towers and Tokyo Village; and workers from local businesses signed to demand more low-income housing, space for legacy small businesses, and a safe environment from construction pollution, among other requests.

LTAG is a 100% volunteer group composed of J-town Action and Solidarity, Save Our Seniors Network, and Greater L.A. JACL. The group participates and works in alliance with the Little Tokyo Community Council, with a focus on tenants, workers, and unhoused residents.
