This time, we’ll experience Japan’s most terrifying aerial bicycle walk. Whether you ride or not is up to you. The location is Okayama Prefecture, the “Land of Sunshine.” Today we introduce Brazilian Park Washuzan Highland, founded in 1971. Unbelievably cheap for an amusement park. Upon entering the park, an event was just underway. Is he shouting something? A man sitting in his seat is half-forced to stand up and come forward. What on earth is about to start? They’re rushing us like crazy… lol And then he’s forced to dance. No one knows the choreography, and everyone’s flustered. “Not quite there yet☆” Unexpectedly, take two. This time, everyone dances for real. Every hour, some kind of event takes place. Bingo tournament starting at 1:00 PM. The speed at which they call out the numbers is unbelievably fast. Huh? Wait a minute… We were in the middle of the bingo game when suddenly we were made to stand up. This time, everyone was forced to participate. And then, without understanding why, we were made to dance. When we got tired of dancing, we were forced to sit down. And then the bingo tournament Brazilian Park Washuzan Highland was born when the previous president was inspired by the “Rio Carnival” he saw during a trip to Brazil. Washuzan Highland’s signature attraction is the “Sky Cycle” It has absolutely nothing to do with Brazil. Huh… What is this? Bicycles are riding along a narrow lane. This is the Sky Cycle, said to be the scariest in Japan… no, the world! Bicycles keep coming. The person in front panics and pedals at full speed. There are two types of bicycles: sideways and upright. Children 130 cm (4’3″) and taller can enjoy it. First, the upright Sky Cycle. Since it’s my first time, I sit in the back seat, which is relatively less scary. You pedal the bike yourself. I’m already scared, but will I be okay? There’s no safety harness; only a seatbelt is worn. It’s incredibly scary, but the view is absolutely breathtaking. High risk, high reward indeed. The creaking sound that echoes with every pedal stroke instantly raises the fear factor. We’ve reached the most challenging spot and the most spectacular viewpoint. From a height of 16 meters above ground, you can enjoy the breathtaking view of the Seto Inland Sea. Is there any insurance I can get right now? Scaryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Surprisingly, there has never been a single fall accident. However, derailments apparently happen quite often, so please pedal slowly, everyone. Somehow made it back safely. Next up is the newly opened “Yokosuka Nanja” in 2024. It moves sideways like a crab. Maybe because it’s sideways, it’s not as scary as before. The bike has a proper luggage rack. Apparently, some people occasionally drop their glasses. For first-timers, riding sideways is recommended. You can also fully enjoy the scenery. Since you’re pedaling, your legs start to hurt more and more. Riding twice by yourself might be pretty tough… More exhausting than scary. Phew. Time for a little break. You can also see the Seto Ohashi Bridge from the Sky Cycle. Finally, we ride the “Sky Cycle” one more time. This time, we take the outer seats, said to be the scariest. It’s true! It’s absolutely terrifying! Just changing seats makes the fear completely different. It feels like I’m being sucked into the ground. Are you really okay? I want to quit already, but I have no choice but to keep rowing. I’m falling~!!!!! Help meee~!!!! Why on earth would anyone pay money to have such a terrifying experience? I’d rather they pay me. Somehow I made it back alive. Reward time at the nearby Jungle Cafe. For some reason, there are tons of crocodiles… I have a bad feeling… Churros at the cafe. And amazingly, you can eat alligator meat. Sugarcane juice! You squeeze the sugarcane yourself. It’s fun watching the juice keep flowing out. So, our 3 PM snack is alligator and sugarcane. This feels way more Brazilian than the Brazil Pavilion at the Osaka Expo. I’ll take the crocodile’s hand. The texture of the hand might be a bit much for me… The taste is surprisingly good, kind of like chicken. It’s surprisingly mild and easy to eat. And my first-ever sugarcane juice. Hmm. This has way more of an acquired taste than the alligator meat (not my thing). Next attraction: the Ferris wheel. This… what is it? We’re riding the Ferris wheel with our bodies almost completely exposed. The new attractions: “Kyotenja” and ‘Sketonja’ Since photography was prohibited on “Kyotenja,” this time, we’ll ride “Sketonja”. “Sketonja” is a completely transparent Ferris wheel. This is a chance for those afraid of heights to overcome their fear. It’s really high, but the Sky Cycle might be scarier. Just having the partitions gives a sense of security. You can see the Sky Cycle we rode earlier. Everyone must be screaming right about now. Washuzan Highland has many other attractions too. The “Bag Nanja” is a groundbreaking attraction, the first in Japan to feature a backward loop. There are also other rides, like teacups, that evoke the cozy charm of the Showa era. Huh? We’re going to try the Rotor Wave. It starts off slowly, but gradually starts to go wild. Ahhh!!! This is pretty scary! Feels like I’m inside a washing machine. I’m being thrown out~!!! And then the aerial swing. Retro and cute. Though you can tell it’s seen some years, it feels like going back to childhood and is fun. It’s great that every attraction has zero wait time and you can hop right on. Ah. Such a cute merry-go-round. You hardly ever see these at amusement parks these days. Ah. Such gentle music. Today’s events start to feel like they were just a dream. Everything is being purified. The amusement park closes at 5:00 PM. I buy souvenirs before heading home. This is the first time in my life I’ve felt so excited about a souvenir shop. The candy I thought would be the least popular was surprisingly number one. For some reason, they were also selling student handbooks. Surprisingly, the student handbook contained the amusement park’s rules and a map—it was actually well-made. It’s a pretty quirky amusement park, but for some reason, I might want to come back. The time was 4:00 PM. The final show was underway. The singing and dancing were already radiating that “I want to go home” vibe. If you ever come to Okayama, please be sure to visit.

  1. awesomes the merry-go-round / the roundabout is playing that sweet Disney melody When you wish upon a star it is a delight to hear that swing looked like fun too with the pastel colors looked delightful as well, the teal colored seat would be the one id take, what a nice lil park just the cycle thing was a bit on the scary side but always remember the DUNE, Bene Gesserit mantra "Fear is the mind killer, i will let it pass over and through me , when it passes only i will remain", ya got this m8 but oh gosh id never ever eat gator my neighbor cooked up some a decade ago and the smell for me was umm nope, made me sick to my belly, i stayed home and had some Orange and Vanilla sherbert ice cream to ease up the sick feeling.

  2. it does feel like a dream a good one, and love the souvenir shop looks awesome too the lil white mouse is so adorable reminds me a lil bit of Kimba/ Leo the white lion, i would like to visit it when i do get there something amazing.

  4. I stayed in the Setouchi hotel near this park a couple of years ago in winter – I thought was abandoned. Thank you for the video, the sky cycle looks fun! Though not sure about the crocodile leg 😅

  7. We used to have something similar to the Sky Cycle, called the ‘Wilde Maus’ (Wild Mouse). You didn't have to pedal yourself, but it was actually quite similar. But the scenery is truly magnificent. I like Ferris wheels too, but not in a glass cabin. 🙂 I find it funny that Japan has the same attractions as we do in Germany.
