Tokyo’s New Fried Sandwiches Are INSANE!

Check it out, guys. Check out these sandwiches. They look amazing. These are deep fried sandwiches from a brand new place in Akihabara. We’re going to try some savory ones as well as sweet ones. Let’s go eat. Hello everybody. Welcome back to Tab Eats and welcome back to Dojo where we explore some of the best food in the city. Today we’re here in Akihabara to try a brand new sandwich shop. This place sells deep fried sandwiches. is going to be trying out some savory ones as well as some sweet ones. This place looks really, really good. I’ve seen it online. We cannot wait to try it out with you guys. So, this place is called Sando Lab. It’s located right below Doniote store in Akihabara. And we just picked up a box. Too savory, too sweet, and there’s no place really to eat there. You can eat right in front of the the store, but we have four. So, we know of a little park right down here, not too far from here, right? It’s like 3 minute away. No. Mhm. That’s across the railroad. Oh my god, we are so excited. Look at this box of sand. Well, you guys can’t see what’s inside yet, but let’s see what we ordered. So, they had a variety of sandwiches. They had egg sandwiches. They had steak sandwiches, sweets, but this was our selection. Check it out. Wow. So, we got that one, we got that one, that one, and that one. Oh, and by the way, if you buy four sandwiches like we did, you get this free box. Of course, you can buy it as optional. It’s 200 yen. Yes, 200 yen. All right, so I’m going to give this one a try first. This is the Japanese beef steak. So, this is using Japanese beef or wagyu. All right, here we go. Oh, look at it. It’s deep fried, but you know what? The interesting thing is that it’s not oily. It’s almost like it’s toasted. Lots of meat on the top. M. Oh. M. The beef is incredibly tender and it’s super flavorful. And the bread definitely deep fried. Definitely deep fried. It’s so so sakuto. Incredibly sakuto. The beef pieces are actually cooked to like um medium rare. Yeah. M. So beefy. So delicious. Oh, and I see something on the bottom here. Is that potato salad. M. Oh, that’s potato salad with a little bit of like um a tinge of horseradish or wasabi, which is actually really nice. And the steak also comes with like a teriyaki sauce. So, it’s very very flavorful. Really really matching the potato salad on the bottom. That’s pretty good. So, my this is egg sando. You can see half boiled egg on top. The egg yolk is runny. You can see here. And on top of this egg, it’s sprinkle. It’s parsley maybe and sauce I think. And you can see scrambled egg. This is named to egg. So it means they have one more egg dish inside. They deep fry this bread in front of us. They freeze this bread once and after that they deep fried. So it must be really crispy and I like they deep fried very evenly color is so beautiful. So m first I want to say this bread is very light sakuto no oily very crispy I like this light and crispy texture and they are using truffles and the aroma is so beautiful it’s comes immediately in my mouth and look at this beautiful egg is nicely stay on this sandwich. That’s amazing. And the beautiful the scramble egg. And also under that it’s egg salad. So it means triple egg sage. So nice. M. So we bought two savory and two sweets. This one is sweets. Cream bun. Look at this beautiful soft face. I think it’s brut. It must be crispy. Oh m little soft but it’s okay. Look at the surface of this bread with the sugar coated. M same as savory one. This bread is really crispy. You heard the sound very light and airy. The surface nice casari taste lightly toasted. The the toast part as another umami and lots of whip cream inside. airy, light, and sweetness. It’s just right, very creamy. All right. And for my dessert sandwich, yes, I calling it a dessert sandwich, I got this strawberry shortcake uh deep fried sando, and it looks lovely. So, basically, you have whipped cream inside with fresh strawberries and a strawberry sauce or jam, of course, all in this deep fried bread here. All right, let’s go. M m. Wow, this is marvelous. H, for some reason, I didn’t expect this much because it’s not strawberry season at the moment. So, I’m thinking like maybe it’s going to be like really sour strawberries, but you know what? It is perfect. The strawberries are a little acidic, but it’s okay. It just goes so well with the sweetness of the other components in the sandwich. It is perfect. Oh my god. M. Oh god. I can’t stop eating this one. And look at all that lovely whipped cream in here. M. This one is a winner. I got to try your uh triple egg. It looks good. Look at all that runny egg. It’s crazy. Like strawberry. Oh my god, the egg is so good. Yeah. M. Oh, I love the subtle flavor of the truffle. Also, it’s a little bit spicy. This one, the combination of the tartness of the strawberry and the sweetness of the fresh cream. So good. Yeah. At the bottom, it’s strawberry jam and the strawberry jam works really good. This one is boiled egg, scrambled egg, and egg salad. But there’s also potato salad on the bottle just like the beef one. This is really good. Mhm. M. Especially I like the texture of this bread. It’s good, right? Really great. That one I love. But you know what? I also love this tamago one, too. Mhm. All right, we switched again. I got the creme brulee one. Steak one. M. Oh, wow. M. The soy sauce. A little bit of garlic with sweet nice sauce and juicy meat. Very good. Yeah, the grain is actually nice, too. I especially like the the custard part where it’s a little bit burnt on the top. I got to say though, my strawberry one I much prefer to this one. And for the savory, I think my favorite is the tamago. Tamago one. Yeah, tamago one and the berry one. Those are two tops. Well, the those are the are the two winners. So, there’s this other viral uh deep fried sando shop that we’ve been to as well. I think um it’s good to compare because they are different. Do you think they’re different? I feel like they’re completely different. The concept is the same, but the execution and the maybe the way they combine the flavors are different. And Mrs. Sandra opened just this September. Yeah. Only two months. Yeah. So, brand new still. So, there are no lines. Uh well, maybe well, we did have to wait about 10 minutes to get our sandwiches, but that’s because they deep fry it on the spot for you. And we ordered four. And a very convenient place in the middle of Akihabara. Yes. Yes. Yes. Right below Donkeyote store. Anyway, if you are visiting Tokyo, make sure you give this place a try. We loved it. We did. We did. Kind of surprised. Pleasantly surprised. As always, let us know your thoughts in the comments down below. Make sure you subscribe for more Tokyo Eats coming up. So stay tuned. Take care everybody. See you next time. Bye-bye. Bye. [Music]

  1. Love how these look!!! I just never go to Akihabara or near there. I think I like the savoury ones better. the steak one looks delicious and you never go wrong with egg right? But I'm tempted to try the creme brulee.

  2. these look so delightful!!! I love how stuffed they seem to be, you get a bunch of filling!
both the dessert and savory sandwiches look amazing ♥

  3. The presentation and according to you, tasty but I think it's a bit difficult to eat with all the mains in the center. Also, not evenly distributed so edges bite will not include the mains.

  4. The egg sando looks fantastic but as an American I would want crispy bacon and a little melted cheese with it. Still, thanks guys for the tour. Yummy yum yum!

  5. Thanks guys. Now I’m dying to try some and thousands of miles away from Akihabara Tokyo. AAAAAA

  6. The sandwiches look great..! They didn't have that when I lived there in the 90's to 2000's. Akihabara.. I went there many times. I used to call it, "Menza Ginza"…!

  7. Had the steak one the other day. Was a bit rare than I'm used to..but boy it was great. Gonna go back and try the other types before I leave Japan 😊

  8. Looks good. Would be wonderful to try it for a one and done because it is a bit pricy. I wonder if I can get a less oily version using an air fryer.

  9. THESE LOOK HEAVENLY! 🤤🤤🤤🤤 Perfect picnic food, to go with coffee or cold green tea. Do you both have an eye on any other flavours from the menu? And is there one with chicken filling? And grilled cheese style?

  10. This is just age.3's gimmick isn't it. Great sandwiches, but overpriced at 850yen and these are even more expensive.

  11. Wow the algorithm just introduced me to your channel, and I love it! Insta-subbed. You guys rock! 💜💪🏼🙏🏼

  12. Oishi Yum Yum as they say in New Snack City. I made the mistake of watching an hour before dinner, now I'm super hungry 😢

  13. You dont know whats inside when they used it for the thumnail 😂😂😂😂😂. Guy must work is sales with that BS 😂😂😂😂

  14. looks delicious guys, I think I would have gotten 2 more savory sandwiches instead of the sweet ones. The fluffy egg sandwich made me drool!
