This video covers a two-day, one-night trip to Yokohama. First, we met up at the hotel and headed into town. It was about a 10-minute walk to the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse. During my October visit to Yokohama, Oktoberfest was happening! It was incredibly busy ! It’s a popular autumn event held at the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse. You can enjoy authentic German beer and sausages. The smells are in the air ! The view of Yokohama is also nice. The weather and temperature are very pleasant. You can even see the blue sky. Let’s go inside! There was a huge line in front of the Oktoberfest venue. Since I had a different goal this time, I headed to the back area . As I walked, I noticed a row of food stalls. It seemed like they were hosting a dog event here. There were a lot of strollers. Looking closely, I noticed they were strollers specifically for dogs. This place also serves as a live music venue. Attracted by the wonderful aroma, I decided to get something to eat. I decided to buy some here. They also sell draft beer, which is poured directly from the keg. I also secured a spot to pick up my beer ! We enjoyed some beer and boiled dumplings. They were hot and chewy. We strolled through Red Brick Park and headed to our next destination. The sea breeze was pleasant, and we enjoyed the view of Yokohama. Yokohama has a lot of events, so it always seems like a fun place to visit. Our next destination came into view. I’ve been to Yokohama many times, but this was my first time visiting this place: the Cup Noodles Museum Yokohama. I’m sure many of you know it. It’s an interactive museum where you can make your own original cup . We received our numbered tickets and decided to tour the museum first. This is the popular exhibition area on the second floor. This is where cup ramen began. This is the “Instant Ramen History Cube,” with cup ramen lined up all over the wall. The spectacular sight stopped us in our tracks. We were excited about the Spa King! We couldn’t help but stare at the nostalgic packaging . The old packaging sparked conversation. The exhibition started with Chicken Ramen in 1958. This is the story that began with just one product. This is where the history of instant ramen began. We also discovered a Teruteru Family collaboration! Invented by Nissin founder Momofuku Ando, the revolutionary concept of “just pour hot water and you’re ready to eat” caused a big stir in Japan at the time. The exhibits are divided into different eras, and many of the designs are familiar. In 1971, “Cup Noodles” was released. It was the world’s first cup-type instant ramen. At the time, it was said to look like “space food,” and this was the beginning of Momofuku Ando’s global expansion. Numerous overseas packaging designs are also on display, with the lettering and design varying from country to country. The story of Momofuku Ando, who overcame a turbulent life and traveled to countries around the world, including Asia, Europe, and America. Before this, I watched a 14-minute video at the Momofuku Theater. This is a CG animation depicting Momofuku Ando’s passion for invention. The “Momofuku Ando History” introduces six keywords that are the origin of ” creative thinking.” I felt a deep message in these simple words. Having enjoyed the museum to the fullest, I decided to go outside for a bit. I decided to enter “Yokohama Cosmo World,” which was right in front of me. It is an amusement park in Minato Mirai, marked by a Ferris wheel. Has anyone been on that? It looks fast and fun, so I bought a ticket and decided to experience the thrill. It’s an attraction called “Spinning Coaster.” The ride itself rotates, and it was surprisingly scary, so I screamed. I raced around the continuous corners, going left and right, and it was a lot of fun. I took a short break at “World Porters” across the street and refreshed myself with lemon squash and fried chicken. I had a great time with my friend and returned to the Cup Noodles Museum. I’ll try it at the My Cup Noodles Factory. You can make your own original Cup Noodles. Experience location: 3rd floor, Original Cup Noodles Factory. Fee: 500 yen (tax included) per meal / Required time: about 45 minutes. Listen to an explanation of precautions, etc. First, I bought a cup for 500 yen and received it. Then, I drew a picture on the cup at the design corner. I was able to draw my favorite illustrations and letters freely. I really like this kind of time. In another area, there is also a “Chicken Ramen” experience. You can choose the experience at the reception. There are over 5,000 combinations! You’ll have to wait until it’s finished to find out what flavor it will be. After choosing your toppings, the lid is sealed and the cup is shrink-wrapped. The bag adheres tightly to the cup with warm air! I made a one-of-a-kind Cup Noodle! It looks so authentic! I can see why it’s so popular! Finally, I put it in the air bag and it’s ready to take home! My one-of-a-kind Cup Noodle is complete! I bought some merchandise at the museum shop. I bought a notepad and a keychain;) If you haven’t been there, I recommend the Cup Noodle Museum. It’s fun to match with your best friend ! It’s about time to head back to the hotel. I’m staying at the Yokohama Bay Hotel Tokyu, conveniently located directly connected to Minato Mirai Station. Located in Queen’s Square Yokohama, this large hotel has approximately 480 rooms and its concept is “urban oasis.” Its calm and elegant atmosphere is its charm. The ocean view on the harbor side is popular. Our room was on the 6th floor, so let’s go inside. We had left our luggage at the hotel, so it was delivered to our room. It was a calming room. What kind of view was it? The curtains were open . It was an ocean view overlooking the harbor! What’s more, it was a corner room, so I was happy! The location was right in front of the Ferris wheel. This is the view that you really get in Yokohama. It had a balcony, so I was looking forward to the night view. You can relax in the spacious bathtub. It’s a great place to soak in a bathtub when you’re traveling, isn’t it? The toilet and shower were both private, and the amenities were plentiful. The mirror was large and easy to use. While we were talking in our room, it was already dark. The Ferris wheel’s illuminations were also beautiful. The lights start to come on every day after 5pm (the lights change depending on the sunset) . It uses over 6,000 LEDs, The color changes with the seasons. I came to the Red Brick Warehouse for dinner. After this, I headed to “Yokohama Hammerhead.” It is a commercial facility in Minato Mirai, a popular spot where hotels, restaurants, souvenir shops, etc. are gathered. I decided to have dinner here. It is a popular restaurant for couples and girls’ parties. You can dine while looking out at the sea. On this day, it was fully booked, so I was shown inside the restaurant. They also have a wide selection of seafood dishes . The squid ink pasta was delicious. It was an amuse-bouche of rice croquettes topped with seafood. For the second place, I went to “A16,” but there was a waiting list of 15 groups, so I gave up this time and decided to have Chinese food takeout. I chose a few dishes that caught my eye, such as dim sum and desserts, and returned to the hotel. Outside the window, the view of “THE Yokohama” spreads out. “Minato Mirai” at night is quiet and comfortable. A beloved landmark for over 100 years, it’s truly a symbol of Chinatown. When you visit Chinatown, you really want to eat Chinese food, right? A delicious lunch filled both your heart and your stomach. Now, let’s head to our next destination. We walked to Yamashita Park. The symbol of Yamashita Park is the Hikawa Maru. I’ve often seen it, but this was my first time inside. It’s known as the luxury passenger ship that Charlie Chaplin rode on. It’s approximately 163 meters long and was built using cutting-edge technology at the time. The “Hikawa” name comes from Hikawa Shrine in Saitama Prefecture. We head up the stairs to the reception desk. Admission to the Hikawa Maru is a reasonable 300 yen for adults. Opening hours are 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM (last entry at 4:30 PM). It’s said that Charlie Chaplin actually ate here. It ran on the Pacific route between Yokohama and Seattle. It’s the only pre-war passenger and cargo ship still standing in Japan. It’s truly a “time capsule on the sea.” The sea breeze feels great. From here, you can see the entire Minato Mirai area. You can feel both the sea and the city from the boat. It’s also recommended to take your time looking out at the sea and feel the history, culture, and romance. If you visit Yamashita Park, this is a spot you should definitely stop by. Time flows slowly, typical of Yokohama, a port city. For dinner, we went to Takanashi Milk Restaurant. It is located on the first floor of Queen’s Square Yokohama.
