In 2020, the WTA star was one of the guests to appear on Meghan and Prince Harry’s podcast as they reflected on the epidemic time. When Osaka withdrew from the 2021 French Open tournament due to mental health issues, Meghan Markle was one of the elite personalities to support the former’s decision. Apart from thanking her family and friends, Osaka also expressed her appreciation for the support she received from others.

She added, “I also want to thank those in the public eye who have supported, encouraged, and offered such kind words. Michelle Obama, Michael Phelps, Steph Curry, Novak Djokovic, and Meghan Markle, to name a few. Michael Phelps told me that by speaking up, I may have saved a life. If that’s true, then it was all worth it.”
