Konkai Komyoji Temple (also known as Kurodani Temple) is located near the Philosopher’s Path in Kyoto and has strong ties to the times of samurai. It is well known for its garden dubbed the “Purple Cloud Garden,” lined with many maple trees that are illuminated at night. The waters lace through the gardenscape and reflect the surroundings, creating oblong shapes and flowing autumn colors.
