Travel in Yamagata | Exploring “Dewasanzan” by Super Cub 50 [4K]

Old Route 112 Good Morning I was tired from climbing Mt. Gassan in bad weather, so I slept well last night. I am heading to Mt. Yudono by using this old road 112. ‘Yudonosan Shrine’ The road is bumpy Well, as expected from the old road The day before yesterday, I was riding carefully this old road in the pitch black of the night. There is construction going on, so I cannot go fast and it’s just right for a super cub 50cc. Riding a Cub in the daytime is very pleasant. The weather was terrible yesterday, but today it’s good. Vehicles under 125cc should take the old Route 112 to the Yudonosan Toll Road. Yudonosan is a 1,504m mountain located to the west of Mt. Gassan. It is believed to be a mountain representing the future world. It is said that visiting the three mountains of Mount Haguro, Mount Yudono, and Mount Gassan will bring you good fortune. Yesterday I went to Mt. Gassan, so today I’m going to Mt. Yudono and Mt. Haguro. The benefits of reincarnation,,, I hope I can receive the blessings of reincarnation. So, To Mt. Yudono Vamos I always take my time in the morning. At some point, I started to take some time for myself in the morning. I take a time alone to refresh my mind. This is very important to understand what I’m feeling right now. There are difficult times in life, When I take the time in the morning, ”Oh well, I’ll be okay.” I’ve come to think that way. The anxiety that comes from time to time, But taking time slowly in the morning treats me kindly. It’s an essential time. I’m ready now. ‘Yudonosan Toll Road’ Motorcycles: 200 yen, cars: 400 yen.(2025) It’s a pretty steep road. Arrived at the entrance of Yudonosan. ‘Yudono Shrine’ You can also take the bus (5 minutes) or walk (about 20 minutes). Mount Yudono is a mysterious world where “do not speak” and “do not hear.” Therefore, photography and shoes are strictly prohibited inside the main hall. As with Gassa-san, purification rituals cost 500 yen. ‘Main shrine entrance’ Go now Mt. Yudono to pray for rebirth. From here onwards photography is prohibited. I’m currently visiting. Done It was a very mystical experience. There is also a foot bath (free) where you can relax. If you have never visited, It’s a good place to refresh your mind. Thank you, Mt. Yudono Leaving Mt. Yudono behind, I head towards Mt. Haguro. Old route 112 is a scenic road. Please join me in riding a motorcycle for a little while. ‘Seven Waterfalls Park’ I’ve over the pass. The Super Cub 50 also made good use of first and second gears. So,, We need a rest little bit. ’Seven Waterfalls’ Thank you as always Cub san Further north from Seven Waterfalls Park Approximately 2 hours drive from Mount Yudono to Mount Haguro Well,,, NIce Weather! I’m hungry, so I think I’ll go get some ramen. There were a lot of cars parked in front of the store, which made me curious. I’ll try out. Gassanken Motsu Miso Ramen Super Delicious Thank you for the meal. With my stomach full, I head to Mount Haguro. Is this the parking lot? I found a parking lot nearby. Arrived I managed to arrive before it got dark. Here is the entrance. ‘Dewasanzan Shrine'(Hagurosan) Finally, the last stop on the journey of rebirth. I’m really tired from walking every day… My legs are shaky… To reach the summit of Mt. Haguro, walking a long flight of stone steps. I don’t know how long it will take,,, I don’t have any water,,, I hope it is not that long Nevertheless, nature is abundant Just walking around here is soothing. ’Grandfather Sugi’ ’Mount Haguro Five-Story Pagod’ This is where the stone steps begin The stone steps leading to the summit of this mountain 2,446 steps! It looks like it will take about two hours… However, here at Mount Haguro, A mountain where people pray for happiness in this world (present day) I have to climb these stone steps… Because of this “journey of rebirth”,,, I must complete this “journey of reincarnation”… So, beyond these stone steps, To regain my true self Also, I discovered a new side of myself… That is the purpose of this trip, so, I will definitely do it But it’s too long… Finally, the entrance was in sight! ‘Dewasanzan Shrine Main entrance’ This is the summit of Mt. Haguro! The stone steps helped me lose the moisture from my body. My mouth is dry,,, Is there water nearby? It doesn’t seem like it… They’re doing something. Seven days from August 26th to September 1st (2025) At Dewa Sanzan Shrine, the “Autumn Mine Entry” ritual, part of the training of mountain ascetics, is held. Today, August 31st, is the last day of the training. Then the Hassaku Festival (Hachiko Shrine Festival) is held. only once a year, I was lucky to come today. Although photography is not prohibited at the summit of Mt. Haguro, I think it is a sacred prayer ceremony, For this time, a few photos and I explained it only in writing by consideration. I can see the vending machine! I need water seriously. I didn’t expect to find water at the top of the mountain. Thank god Ice-cold Coke! is appealing, but this time… I only drink water and alcohol Thank you money I’m so happy now It really helped me I rehydrated and revived Now I can get off the mountain Thank you, Mt haguro. It’s almost sunset,, I’ll get off while it’s still light and go to the hot springs. Reborn, a new chapter begins After visiting Mt. Gassan, Mt. Yudono, and Mt. Haguro Beaten by the wind and rain, my body moisture was completely gone, It’s really refreshing. ‘Yamabushi Hot Spring Yupoka’ “‘Yupoka” was an amazing onsen! ‘Sukiya’ Actually, it’s been 15 years since I last visited Sukiya… I’m really looking forward to it It looks good yo Must put a raw egg in a beef bowl. Truly a golden beef bowl OMG Next time, I’ll be going to Mt. Chokai. Thank you for watching.
