Avery Sunshine’s Powerful Vocals Return to Blue Note Tokyo
Powerhouse singer-songwriter Denise Nicole White, also known as Avery Sunshine, will make her return to Blue Note Tokyo after 11 years.
Her latest album, “So Glad to Know You,” won the 67th Grammy Award for Best Progressive R&B. Originally from Chester, Pennsylvania, Avery Sunshine began her career as a keyboardist for Tyler Perry and served as musical director for the hit musical Dreamgirls. In 2010, she debuted with the album “AverySunshine,” featuring guest appearances such as Roy Ayers. Her hit song “Call My Name” reached No. 1 on the Billboard charts. Her latest album, “So Glad to Know You,” won the 67th Grammy Award for Best Progressive R&B.

The performance will feature Avery Sunshine on keyboard and vocals, Dana Johnson on guitar, Detoxxx on bass and Evan Menifee on drums. There will be a total of four performances across two dates. On November 24, the first show will open at 15:30 and start on 16:30. The second show will open at 18:30 and start at 19:30. On November 25, the first show will open at 17:00 and start at 18:00. The second show will open at 19:45 and start at 20:30.
