Nippon-Ham announced on March 14 that Torai Fushimi catcher will move to Hanshin Tigers in an exchange trade for Hanshin Tigers and Shimamoto. Fushimi said through the team, “I feel that it was because of the support of the team that I was able to play comfortably for the past three years since I joined the team as an FA. It was a good memory and a valuable experience for my future baseball life. Also, the fans have always supported me in good times and bad, and pushed me when I felt like giving up many times. Fushimi played in 64 games this season, batting .241 with two Home Run. As the oldest fielder, he was trusted by pitcher and encouraged the team. However, due to the growth of young catcher such as Tamiya and Shindo, he was unable to increase his playing time. This was the final year of the three-year contract he signed when he transferred from Orix as a free agent in the offseason of 2022.
◇Fushimi Torai: Born May 12, 1990 in Hokkaido. 35 years old. After graduating from Tokai Daigaku Shi High School and Tokai University, he joined Orix as the third pick in the 2012 draft. In the offseason of 2022, he exercised his domestic free agent rights and joined Nippon-Ham on a large three-year contract worth approximately 300 million yen. His career stats are a batting average of .233, 21 Home Run, and 142 RBI in 633 games. He is 182 cm tall and weighs 89 kg. He bats and throws right-handed.
