🇯🇵 Fuji’s Underground World — Descending Into Fuji’s Darkest Caves!🗻
People are probably scared. We just saw another two human for the last 45 minutes. The first two human I seen. I never feel that happy. Batman ow ow. [Music] Good morning, guys. Look at where we are. I know you probably can’t really see it. That is Mount Fuji. So, we’re staying in Mountain Fuji View Hotel and you can see it. It’s covered by clouds and it’s like this most of the time, but we do have a clip from the rooftop earlier this morning and you can see a clear view of Fuji Mountain. So, we’re going to walk out now and we’re going to explain what we’re going to do today. We’re walking to the bus stop right now and today we’re going to be doing some cave exploring. There’s four caves all inside the Aoki Gihara forest. One’s called the ice cave, the wind cave, bat cave, and the dragon cave. And uh we are staying in the north side of Fuji Mountain. So this is called the Fuji 5 Lake Evia. And where we are staying is close to Lake Kavakuchi. And then where we’re going with all the caves is in the other lake uh called Psycho Lake. So we’ll see how different it is comparing to the lake close to us. [Music] Here is our first stop, the ice cave. So, we were still trying to go for all four caves today, but we realized their last bus to go back is a 505, which is really crazy cuz we were not expecting that. So, now it might be hard for us to try to go for all four caves and then explore the forest. Also go to the lake. So, we’ll see what we can we’re going to do. Uh, worst case worse, we’ll walk 2 and 1/2 hours to get back home. So, we heard that the ice cave is it can be really cold inside and it’s really hot out today. So, I’m going to be surprised if it’s cold and extra surprised if there’s actually ice inside. Here’s the entrance of the ice cave. So, you got to get a ticket for the ice cave, but uh it’s like a combination ticket. It also include your entrance to the wind cave. And each ticket was 600 yen. So 1,200 in total, which is $12 Canadian roughly. Oh, you feel that? Wow. I can feel the cold air already. This is a lot different than I expected. It really feels like a cave. Remember the movie we just watched, The Descent. Oh yeah, that feels like that. Maybe a little bit better. At least there’s some steps, but still pretty scary. And it’s really, really cold. [Music] This is getting harder and harder to walk in. That’s a tight entrance. I need to wash my hat. Protect my hand. Maybe you shouldn’t film. It’s kind of dangerous. Oh my god. Use it like a slide. I’m so scared. Okay, so can confirm they have real ice down here. Yeah, they look really pretty. Wow. Slippery. Oh, look at those. That’s so crazy. Wow. It’s pretty short, but it’s one of the coolest experience so far on this trip. I think we’re going to get some souvenirs. We don’t have any s like any magnets from Fuji yet. So, I think this is the one. It’s really cute and it’s only 440. All right, so we’re all finished with the ice cave. It was pretty short. You just go straight down and then straight back up. But, uh, it was a lot of fun crawling through the cave like that. And, uh, it was cool to see some real ice and to feel like the temperature just drop. And now we’re going to head to our second part of the ticket, the wind cave. And we’re supposed to go all the way around back to the main street like a big kind of like a U- shape. But I think we’re going to try and just find an opening here through the forest, the Aoki Gajara forest. And uh that’ll be our trail for today. Hopefully no crazy wildlife like bears or anything about this forest. It’s it’s uh it’s all on lava rock in the year 864. There was a great eruption and I guess lava flowed all down here and now the forest is growing on lava rock and it’s like a forest that we’ve never really seen before. So should be cool as long as we can get to the other side. So I think that this is the direction that we’re going. So, as long as we stay in this direction, we should hit something eventually. Okay, so mission failed. The forest was a lot more dense than we thought it was going to be. Yep. And now we’re going to go back to the main row and walk to the wind cave. Second stop. Aukai. Oh, we’re not even underground yet. And I feel the cold air. It feels good. Oh, another shine. All right. I was more expecting some wind noise in the wind cave, but there’s also some ice here just like the ice cave. And uh they say it’s they call it a natural refrigerator. [Music] natural refrigerator. You got any drinks for us? Any cold beers? So, turns out they actually do use this natural refrigerator. Uh so Japan has a long history of uh silkworm breeding for the production of silk and on normal conditions you can they only breed about one two times a year but um keeping it down here they can do it uh three to four times a year and they also keep uh some seeds down here. Turns out there is a trail that will lead you through the forest from the ice cave to the wind cave. I guess we missed that when we left the uh ice cave. That’s a little unfortunate. We uh we didn’t have to make our own trail and I guess we ate a lot of spiderw webs for nothing. All right, so we’re stopping for some lunch at a restaurant right outside the wind cave. Cold noodle. I got a fried noodle. They’re actually pretty cheap. I would think that like places like this they’re going to charge you a lot. And this is only like $7 per person per plate. So, it’s pretty good. And looks like we probably would have time to finish the other two caves and then go see the lake and still make make it for the bus. So, apparently this corn noodle is seasonal, so it’s only for summertime. Oh, limited edition. Mhm. That’s really good. So refreshing. We decided to order some takoyaki as well. I think they’re not like the typical looking takoyaki. They’re not in a ball. It’s already being covered up, but they’re have like a squid face on it. Cheers. [Music] Not bad. So, we’re going to do a little bit of backtracking. Some poor planning on our part for this adventure. I really wanted to take a hike through this forest. Our recommendation would be start at the wind cave, then you can take the trail to the ice cave, and then take the other trail to the dragon cave, and then end at the bat cave. We’re almost at the ice cave. Took us about 15 minutes, maybe 20 minutes. And it kind of feels like the forest and the Harry Potter movies. It does. It’s really peaceful. Honestly, I rather walk in this than walking on the road. Like it’s not as sunny. Temperature is good. Just I’m still thinking about how my friend was telling me that this is haunted. So I’m really scared to see something that we shouldn’t see. So cross my fingers. Don’t see anything. Okay. Beside trees and animals. It’s a nice animals. No bears. If you guys see anything that’s not right in all the spirals, do not comment. I do not want to know. So, my friend was telling me this forest is haunted, but he didn’t tell me why. And until we walk past the sign and uh I guess I kind of starting to understand it like based on my knowledge of Japanese, it says if you have any money loan issues, you can call this number and they can talk to you and they can help you. And also when I was trying to tag this forest on Instagram, it automatically popped out suicide forest and I don’t know and after that seeing the sign everything is getting really real and I really hope that anyone going through anything always trying to call to get help before you make any decision. [Music] What are you doing? I need a cross. I don’t have a cross. I have to say that this forest is creeping me out more and more. Just too quiet. I never been to a trail that like we’re the only people in here. It’s so quiet. Thought we were going for a hike, but I think Joe was going for a jog. Never seen her move so fast. I could move. I can feel the cold breeze. Wow. Feels good. We found the dragon cave and immediately without even going in you can feel the cold air. I guess this is not it’s really different from the ice cave and the wind cave. There’s you don’t need a ticket. You just go in. There’s no one here. Yeah, people are probably scared. We just saw another two human for the last 45 minutes. The first two human I seen. I never feel that happy. Look at this. Oh, feel the cold air. I’m scared. Can we go down? I dropped it. Thank you. I have to aim better this time. Okay, I pray hopefully we can get out alive. I want to go back up. It’s so cold down there. It feels good. So hot. Okay, so that was it for the dragon cave. It took us maybe 45 minutes from the ice cave hiking through the woods. It’s a long 45 minutes. Joe’s probably happy that we’re leaving the forest now. Yay. We were seeing some more humans, too. So, that makes me happy. But when we were there, there was no one there. So, it was pretty cool. Pretty peaceful. Yeah. Too peaceful. And it was a lot less than the wind cave and ice cave. It was you just walk down maybe 20 steps, see a shrine. Yeah, that was it. I wonder why they called it the dragon cave. I don’t see any dragon elements or anything shapes in dragon, but that was pretty cool. And just like the other caves, the temperature just dropped. It was really nice. It’s pretty crazy how it can be so hot out up top and then you go down a couple steps and it’s just it feels like you’re going into a mall. Like the second you walk through the door, like the cold I say it’s even colder than AC. Yeah. Yeah. Anyway, now we’re trying to go to our last one, Batcave. And think it’s another 20 minutes walk on the main road. So, it’s pretty safe now. We’re safe. Let’s see if we can find Batman. We made it to the Batcave. We’re the last group of customer today cuz it says it’s going to take 30 minutes round trip. So, it’s 3:30 and it closed at 4:00. So, I guess we will make it back before they close. And I really like this ticket. It’s shiny. I’m going to keep this. You got a fancy helmet? Oh, yeah. Batman, man. Oh, good thing I’m wearing a helmet. I already hit my head. Whoa, this is really cool. I wonder if you actually see bat in bat cave. Wow, this is a lot darker than the other two cave. The other three cave. This is really dark. A light turned on. Ooh. Wow. This is the giant’s footprint, which I don’t see anything. Wow, this is so hard. I feel like a spider going for this. Oh, that one’s Oh my god. Batman’s got to do this all the time. In and out. Ow. You got the helmet. Yeah. Ow. We’re getting dirty in this cave. Oh yeah. Dirty and wet. Dirty and wet. Oh, we can stand here. Can we? Okay, I think we found it. I think it’s Batman’s lair. Let’s see if he’s home. This part of the cave beyond this area is protected area for bats. So, the actual bats, they lived inside. Okay, Batman wasn’t home. He must have been out fighting some crime. We’re going to keep going through the cave. Maybe we’ll see some real bat if you’re lucky. It’s so hot outside. I wish I can stay in there. I should be a bat. Yeah, it’s a lot cooler. All these caves, they’re nice, refreshing on a warm day. Yeah, another souvenir that we’re going to get. It’s a handmade magnet. It’s so cute. It’s like a little Fuji Mountain here. And the bat, it’s only 350, too. And it’s made in here. So, I’m going to get this. All right. Here’s the evidence that Batman does live in the cave. We just missed him today. Okay, we’re done with the bat cave and now we’re going to our last destination of the day, which is the Sao Lake and it’s around 20 minutes walk. I think we’re doing pretty good with the time. It’s 4:00 right now. 20 minutes walk there and then last bus pass at 5:11. So, we will have some time to enjoy the lake. And for all the caves today, I think my personal favorite is it’s the bad cave. It’s less tourists. I mean, the dragon cave have no tourists at all, but this one is is more fun to go through. What about you? What What was your favorite? Yeah, same for me. The bat cave is probably the number one. Yeah, it was uh a lot of crawling and big open areas. [Applause] We found a shortcut to the lake and here we are. But unfortunately, for some reason, all this lake here, you’re not allowed to swim in there. I don’t understand. They look perfectly fine. They’re really clear. They’re really clean. I’m not sure what is the reason that why we cannot swim in there. It’s probably they don’t want us to contaminate the water. Okay, you can see behind us it’s Mount Fuji. This lake is really different than the other one, Lake Kawaguchi. It’s really not tourist like it’s barely anyone here. No shops, really really quiet. We have some local Japanese here like fishing and then and that’s pretty much it. And we’re probably the only tourist here. So, we’re going to chill here and then we’re going to find our bus station. And we made it. We made it the whole day. We can catch the bus. We don’t need to walk 2 and 1/2 hours, which is good. Okay. If we can find a place to get us some beer, we will have some cold beers. All right. There’s Mount Fuji from Lake Psycho. And looks like it’s clearing up a bit. It’s almost as good as view as we can get right now in June. There’s a fish there right beside Jordan’s feet. Looks like it’s going to eat Jordan. Oh. Oh, right here. Oh, I feel them nibbling me. Oh, no. Now I’m getting some fish, too. Oh, there’s two right there. They’re about to attack me cuz they keep attacking me earlier. Oh, there’s a big one. Oh, the big boy is coming in. I’m scared. Okay, we make it to the bus station and now we’re just going to hope that the bus will show up. Yeah, or else it’s a long walk home. And that’s it for today’s videos. I hope you guys enjoy it.
