Doubles specialist Taylor Townsend and four-time Major champion Naomi Osaka are enjoying one of their best stretches of 2025 on their ongoing getaway. The two share a strong bond on and off the court, and with the WTA season officially over, both champions have begun to unwind.

Taylor Townsend Opens Up About Naomi Osaka’s Company During Their Recent Getaway

A few days ago, the duo appeared together in a video that Townsend had uploaded on Instagram. Osaka led the clip, sporting a jeweled swimsuit and vibing and lip-syncing to 4 Non Blondes’ What’s Up. The scene transitioned smoothly to Townsend, dressed in a sleek black monokini, swaying with ease to Nicki Minaj’s upbeat hit ‘Beez in the Trap.’

The two recently recreated a similar moment while enjoying watersports together in a video shared by Townsend on Instagram. They were seen riding their jet skis and swaying together as they fully immersed themselves in the moment.

“Up thru derrreee to Shenan-Again with Naomi Osaka,” Townsend captioned.

Several fans were in awe of their bond, with one fan completing it in the comments:

“Love seeing y’all together,” they wrote.

Townsend replied: “It’s fun.”

Osaka, who struggled to find her footing after returning from maternity leave last year, managed to lift her trajectory significantly in 2025. The Japanese star ended her four-year title drought by capturing the WTA 125 event in Saint-Malo. While not a tour-level crown, the victory meaningfully revived her confidence moving forward.

The 28-year-old then brought her trademark A-game to the WTA 1000 event in Montreal, advancing to the final before losing to home favorite Victoria Mboko. She carried that momentum into the US Open, where she reached the semifinals but was stopped by Amanda Anisimova. Another standout performance was a run to the final in Auckland earlier in the season. Osaka finished the season with a 35-15 win-loss record and as World No. 16.

Having firmly carved out her place among the top doubles specialists, Townsend ended her remarkable season ranked World No. 2 in the category. Her authority could be judged by her three WTA titles in Osaka, at the Dubai Duty Free Championships, and at the Australian Open earlier this year.

In fact, a 44–10 win–loss record added to her phenomenal run in 2025. The American concluded her season at the WTA Finals with Kateřina Siniaková, although the duo fell in the semifinals to Elise Mertens and Veronika Kudermetova.
