Solo trip in a ferry suite. The ferry I’m taking this time is the Sunflower Murasaki, a new Sunflower ship that launched in spring 2023, following the Kurenai. I immediately began boarding procedures. The terminal was also renovated to coincide with the launch of the Kurenai and Murasaki. New areas, such as a smartphone charging area and a prayer room, have been added. Regarding today’s seat availability, many rooms are fully booked, suggesting there are many passengers. This time, I’m taking advantage of the “Single Use Campaign,” which is being offered for a limited time until June 30, 2026. A suite room normally costs 54,600 yen for two people, but this time, it’s available for single use for an additional 5,000 yen per person. Boarding will begin shortly. I’m off to enjoy the luxury of a suite room all by myself! What a gorgeous sight! The entrance is a three-story atrium. This is more of a cruise than a ferry. Sunflower’s concept is “enjoying a high-quality cruise experience even on a regular route.” My room was a semi-suite with a capacity of 2-3 people. It even had two beds, a sofa, and a table. For a solo traveler, it was truly an over-the-top luxury. The suite room even came with a welcome drink. The drinks in the refrigerator were free! Can I drink this by myself?! Yay!!! It even had a balcony with outdoor access. For today, this space was all mine. The room was equipped with a closet, as well as amenities like nightwear, slippers, and a toothbrush. I could take the slippers home. We also had access to a cafe lounge on board that was exclusive to suites. Financially speaking, this was probably the first and last time I’d ever set foot in this lounge. The suite lounge was open 24 hours a day. It was filled with stylish books I wouldn’t normally read… The suite lounge offered unlimited ice cream! Tons of Palms! And unlimited coffee, which pairs perfectly with the ice cream. Considering a cup of coffee costs 300 yen, you’d need 106 cups to break even. A bottle of Palm costs 195 yen, so you’d need 164 bottles to break even! The ferry is packed with innovative features that defy conventional wisdom, making it truly feel like a “cruise.” A special concert will also be held starting at 7 p.m. Due to weather, the rooftop deck was closed to the public. It’s a shame, but there’s no other way… the gong rang 15 minutes before departure. Since we couldn’t go out on deck, we watched the departure from inside the ship. Even today, the Sunflower crew came outside to see us off. Thank you so much for coming despite the cold and bad weather! After setting sail, it was time for dinner. Both dinner and breakfast at Sunflower are buffet-style, allowing you to choose whatever you like. The dinner buffet costs 2,500 yen per person. While a little pricey, it’s definitely worth it. First of all, the food is incredibly colorful. And the menu is so extensive, you’ll want to try everything. There are plenty of fried foods loved by both adults and children. On the Osaka-Beppu route, the “Setouchi Buffet” offers seasonal ingredients and local cuisine from the Seto Inland Sea. Considering the all-you-can-eat fresh vegetables and fruit, 2,500 yen seems like a bargain… The desserts are also impressive, with chocolate fondue! The chocolate fondue is not a limited-time offer, but is a permanent menu item that can be enjoyed any time. While alcoholic drinks are charged, soft drinks are all-you-can-drink. The food was beautifully presented. Just as we finished our delicious, delicious, delicious meal, the concert began! Sunflower currently hosts special events almost every night. And with different performers each time, it’s never boring. We stopped by a shop right next to the restaurant. Sunflower’s shop has an incredible selection! They mainly sell Sunflower original goods and souvenirs from Kansai and Kyushu. What should I do? Deciding what to buy is part of the journey. Time flies. I discovered the “chicken skin” snack recommended by a viewer. I also bought a limited edition Sunflower Murasaki coaster. There are coin lockers and refrigerated coin lockers on board, so you can store your souvenirs there. After the special event, the projection mapping begins. Using the atrium ceiling for the projection mapping is a wonderful idea. I head to the Sweet Cafe Lounge for the second time today. It’s a cafe lounge I rarely get to visit, so I always want to go. Palm is the best! There’s also a large public bath on board. There’s also a powder room nearby. The hair dryers are Panasonic, so there’s no need to worry about airflow! Another area includes a massage room. There’s also a kids’ corner where children can play. There are also plenty of vending machines. Currently, due to the cyber attack on Asahi Beverages, there are issues even on the ferry. While there are some areas on board where it’s difficult to connect, free Wi-Fi is available. I return to my room for the rest of the day to host a solo party. I need a lot of ice for the party, so I’ll go get some. You can get ice from the kitchen. The ice made by this machine is incredibly delicious. Let’s start the day with a toast. The welcome drink is a Brie Chardonnay white wine. It has a cap, so I can take any leftovers home with me. Chicken crackers made by a soy sauce manufacturer in Oita Prefecture are crispy and flavorful, making them a perfect match for alcohol. Let’s have some orange juice, too. Oh! It spilled! Oh! It’s stronger than real mandarin oranges. Time for a drink while watching local TV. Oh… Could that cruise ship I can see from the balcony be… the Nippon Maru?! The Nippon Maru looks so cool as it sails across the ocean… On the Osaka-Beppu section, we pass under three bridges. The Seto Ohashi Bridge, underway, is one of the world’s largest road and rail bridges. It’s also the route of the beloved sleeper train, the Sunrise Seto. There’s a shared large communal bath, but tonight I’ll use the shower in my room. The shower is combined with the toilet . It’s a shame to go to bed yet, but I want to sleep in this suite bed. I can’t resist the urge to sleep… Good night. Mornings at Sunflower start early. I woke up early because I wanted to try the legendary breakfast, which is only available for one hour. All-you-can-eat breakfast for just 750 yen. Isn’t that pretty amazing? Even for 750 yen, the selection is incredibly wide. In this age of inflation, this reasonable price is truly appreciated. The food is so good that I wonder when the chefs at Sunflower sleep. This is enough food for today! I’m already hungry, probably because yesterday’s alcohol hasn’t worn off, so I’m surprised I managed to finish this much. The ferry arrives at 6:35. I’m already full, but I’ll have another Parmesan and make a final push. Ahh… We’re almost there… The suite room flew by in an instant. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to casually enjoy the suite room, even when I’m alone. Where should I go next? Thank you for watching until the end.

I recognize that one song the duo was singing, I believe the English title was called "Sukiyaki" since the Japanese title is hard to say.

So nice ferry to visit
The suite looks nice and the amenities are complete as well
3:54 who is this tv message referring to?
Thats really a cruise and not a ferry journey: the departure gong, the comfortable suite with a balcony, a big buffet, a concert, public baths and even a light show ! Really cool, thank you for sharing.
But please dont attempt to drink 106 cups of coffee to make it break even ;-).

Always love to see Sunflower here!
Great trip. It's great you can have semi suite room for yourself only. It's also great you can access to exclusive lounge for suite passenger with unlimited drink and ice cream, but to be honest, If I can take this room or the higher one, I prefer got dinner and breakfast included in ticket price.

Abba's "Dancing Queen" sung in Japanese, one more experience that I never even thought about
Wow! Considering there's a captive customer base, those buffets were incredible at a shockingly low price. The food looked delicious. and the presentation put that of many cruise ships and high-end hotels to shame, even allowing for cultural differences and expectations.
ISUKA JAPAN… Thank you for a wonderful video once again on the sunflower 🎼 love from Margaret Australia ❤
I much enjoy your content and your presentation. A small criticism: you overuse the exclamation mark. With this punctuation, less is more. In this video, it wasn't so flagrant, but in others, it became disconcerting.
It's time for you to go on a big cruise ship.
Haha that japanese take on the dancing queen was fun to watch.
Perhaps maybe one day, I'll be reviving the 1997 "Breaker High" TV show back to life and create its brand-new brilliant next generation sequel called "Breaker High: The Next Sailing Wave."
🎉💖✨️💎🌄🌴🥥⛱️🏖🌊☀️🌕💄💅😎🥳🏰
Always enjoy the sunflower song
Finland has similar ferry-cruises to nearby countries, often taking from hours to couple of days. The one going between Stockholm and Helsinki is very popular and there's multiple companies running the route.
Prayer room? Is that for Christians? Love the Sunflower song. I wish I could get a recording of it. Also they should put a name tag in Japanese and English to let people know what food it is. I wish I could go on a trip like this.
Hi 👋 it's me, Johnny, your #1 Super Fan 🤘 from Maryland USA! I love 💗 when you show these ferries. Japan 🇯🇵has such a nice ferry ⛴️ fleet! Please watch out for bears 🐻! They are eating a lot of people in Japan 😮!
