THIS CITY HAS CHANGED A LOT… I AM BACK IN JAPAN

Heat. Heat. Good morning guys. It is good to be back. Good to be back in the country in the city of where I used to live. This is Osaka, Japan. The weather is perfect. This is one of the reasons why I came here because I know what the weather’s like in this country. I spent about 8 years living in Japan. And the end of October, start of November, the best time to come to Japan because the weather is sunny yet it’s not hot. It’s fresh, very mild, and it’s a good change to Southeast Asia where I’m usually sweating my ass off every day. And last week, I asked you guys to guess where I’m going to be going next. A lot of you made very good guesses, but only one person got it right. So, shout out to CS Y for guessing Japan. The only person to guess Japan. So well done. So we’re starting my little morning walk today in Namba. This is Namba Parks. It’s like a big shopping mall. It’s a really nice place. This is not really the main area of Osaka, but it’s one of the most popular areas. The main area in Osaka is Umemeda. That’s where the the big train station is. Um, but I used to come here a lot because this is my favorite place in Osaka and my capsule hotel of what I’ll I’ll show you that later. That is also in Namba. So, what I’m going to do is just spin the camera around and show you what I see. I do not feel so good today. Good. Uh because I had the worst flight of my life yesterday. Yeah. From Kalumpur to Osaka Air Asia. Avoid them at all cost. My flight was delayed 3 hours as they always are. My flight was not until 5 in the morning. It should have been at 2:00, but basically I didn’t sleep at all. Didn’t sleep on the plane. The plane was like a freezer. So I was on the plane for about 7 hours and uh yeah, that was not fun. So, I’m a bit fatigued, but I’m happy to be here. So, I’m actually really sad right now, guys, because this Burger King used to be my favorite cafe. It was called like Sunshine Bakery or something, and um it’s now a Burger King. I already knew that before I came here cuz I checked it on Google Maps and yeah, it was no longer there. They would have this uh siphon filter coffee was it was really good, really cheap. Um that’s Otoya. Really? famous Japanese chain restaurant. Really good. There’s another chain cafe pronto. It’s all right. But I’m going to take you to my favorite one later. Another one of my favorites. Yeah, I lived here long enough to really feel like this place was my home. And it’s such a good feeling to be back. [Music] It is about 10:00 a.m. right now. on a Monday morning. Uh, this leads to an underground path to the station. We’re not really want to don’t really want to go there right now. Look how busy the escalator. Everyone’s going to work. And you may notice that it’s just very welld designed, very clean, and there are so many foreigners, guys. Like, one of the biggest changes I’ve noticed is how many foreigners there are. When I was here, when I first came here in 2019, the first time I came to Osaka, I was sent I used to live in Tokyo and the security company I worked for sent me down here for a week to work for a particular corporation. I was a security guard at their office and I had a great experience. And then I moved here in 2021. But there were no foreigners, guys. Like I’m telling you, Osaka was not all about tourism. But just being here since yesterday, I have seen so many foreigners. So that’s a big difference when I was last here. Ankai Namba station. I don’t remember all these tables and chairs being here. This is definitely new. of the big shopping streets over there. This is Marowi. It’s like a huge department store. Weather is perfect. Yesterday wasn’t. It was really wet and cloudy. Uh this is uh Takashimaya which is a huge Japanese department store. There’s also one in Saigon in Vietnam. There are malls here. But what’s more common are these shopping street and they are sheltered. So you know you’re outside but you’re still under the shelter you know if it’s raining. I’ve been here many times. I’m sure lots of changes have been made, but I really love these shopping street. This is great. I’m outside vlogging and uh my camera is not overheating. And I am not sweating. [Music] All these stores usually open at 10:00 or is it 9:00? But and they’re open all day and all night until like well I think they close around 10:00 p.m. some 11:00 p.m. What you will see in Japan are a lot of lines. There’s a lot of uh hype for particular cakes, bread, and people will line up. Anything that’s new, especially people will go there, line up to have it. So basically, a line is good in Japan because if there’s a line, it must be good. That’s one of the expressway roads up there. This is very common. All these businesses, all the advertising just stacked up on top of each other. Yeah. These are called gacha gacha machines. Yeah. Just get absolutely anything in those. Family Mart have that in Malaysia, too. Yeah, the convenience stores in Japan, they are the best in the world. I actually used to work on this street for a school just down there. Guys, this is just a walk and talk vlog today. Uh, but the reason why I came back here uh was to visit a friend who I’m going to see later. And that’ll be in the part two of my Japan return to Japan experience. You’ll notice that a lot of people still wear the mask. Very common in Japan. just go out with a mask, you know, one of these surgical masks on. And even though there’s no epidemic here, it’s uh very common. Heat. Heat. I cannot believe how many foreigners there are. Like, I’ve never seen this many foreigners in Osaka. [Music] security guard. All the security guards in Japan are like really old. They’re like in their 70s, 80s plus. You will rarely see any young security guard. The police are fairly young, but security guards, they are just like they’re most of them are like 99% are like over the age of 70. Yeah, I used to work up here. Doesn’t even look like the skills there anymore. No, I don’t see it on here. So, must have shut down. My first vlog since being back in Japan. Great weather and despite the really rough flight, I’m already feeling better. So, this soy milk latte, £212. Yeah, not bad. Quite similar to prices in Malaysia. Ah, that’s good. It’s good to be back, guys. I am not with it today, as you can tell from my voice. Need another day or two, and I’ll be back to the dad that I am. It’s good to be back just chilling out here in this cafe. do. Yeah. Under one of those uh sheltered shopping streets. There is a particular name for these streets, but I forgot what it was. I’m not in Japan for long and I’m going to go somewhere else next before going somewhere else after that. But I’ve got a lot of work to do as well. So, I’ll try and release vlogs every second day or so while I’m traveling. But can’t make any promises, guys. I’m always on the move. Hence, the channel name, Daz Moves. 1. So many foreigners because the Yen has tanked and it is the go to destination where your money will go alot farther.
Plus it's a great country to visit.

  2. Air asia suck! they have no problems just pushing back your flight 3 hours like you havent got anything else better to do than wait and lose the day. so annoying!

  3. Welcome back!

I'm a permanent immigrant of Japan from Australia since 2012. It's wonderful living and working in a society where people take care of their communities and have a sense of belonging.

Affordable housing is also amazing. My mortgage is about AUD1000 per month for a family home under an hour from Tokyo and Yokohama.

  4. Love your videos mate! I want to go to all the places you are going, so love the videos. Omg the latte for £2 at the end? Mate we are paying £4-£5 for a latte back in the UK. Planning my escape from the UK, inspired by many including you 🙂🙏🏾

  5. After being in Japan for eight years, can you speak Japanese, that’s the question!
Btw…I agree,Air Asia is terrible, nothing complimentary that I could mention here….we used them once, never again!

  6. Wow – eight years in Japan? What a fantastic experience. Why did you go back to Scotland?
