Exploring Yokohama with My Dog: Hidden Pet-Friendly Places!

Hey everyone and welcome back to the vlog. Today we are heading to one of Japan’s most popular cities, Yokohama. It’s the second largest city in Japan, just under 30 minutes from Tokyo by train. But this time, I’m not going alone. As you can see, I’ll be exploring with my dog, Runa. So, if you’re thinking about bringing your furry friend around Yokohama, this video is for you. All right, let’s go. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] First stop, lunch at Seven Arts Cafe. This place was opened in 2021 by Dr. Joseph Amato. The cafe’s name comes from the seven traditional arts like music, painting, dance, and literature. Their menu focuses on healthy superfood based meals packed with fruits, veggies, and grains. Can I have one grilled ham and cheese? Sure. Ice coffee. Okay. Sloppy joce. Okay. When would you like your drinks? [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] And there’s maca in here. So everything’s based on superfoods. There’s a little mayonnaise in your ham and cheese and then mayonnaise. It’s all enjoy. Thank you so much for the explanation. [Music] And it’s healthy. Yeah. The food was honestly really, really good. Healthy and tasty. And without saying, the best part, it’s dog friendly. If you’re in the area, I really recommend checking it out. I’ll leave a link to your page below if you want to know more. [Music] After lunch, we walked over to a spot called Hachidori Coffee. I actually found this place while exploring Google Maps. I was looking for local coffee shops, not chains, and this came out. It looked interesting, so I decided to check it out. ice. [Music] It’s actually part of an old Japanese house complex that also has an African goods shop, a rental space, and even a small music studio. You can’t bring your pets inside, but they have a small takeout window where you can order without going in. Since I just wanted to order takeout, the takeout window was convenient. They use organic fair trade beans, and the coffee was smooth. [Music] It’s one of those small local place with good vibes. Definitely worth a stop if you’re nearby. [Music] Next, from there we walk towards Kishamichi Prominade. This walkway used to be part of an old train track from 1911 and now it’s a nice scenic route connecting to the red brick warehouse area. You can also spot the Yokohama air cabin, the city’s cable car passing overhead. [Music] And here is the famous red brick warehouse. Back in the 19th century, these buildings were used to store imported goods when Yokohama became Japan’s main trading port. Today they’re used for events, exhibitions, and shops. There’s also a big open park area where you can relax and enjoy the sea breeze. [Music] Hey, what’s up? What’s up? [Music] There’s always events happening here. And as you can see, there’s actually a sweet potato festival happening. Pretty random, but fun to walk around. [Music] Okay, nice. [Music] Heat. Heat. N. [Music] [Music] From Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse, we walked over to Yamashita Park. This is one of Yokohama’s most popular waterfront parks. Stretching about 750 m along the bay. It’s a great place to chill, watch ships go by, and of course, there are tons of other dog owners around, too. You can just sit, relax, and enjoy the seview with your furry friend. Summer days, they go shorter with every hour, every minute of every day. Couldn’t sleep even if I wanted to. Need to cherish every moment left with you. But these shoes are colorless. Break my heart on again. Wish I could slow down. We should just kiss from Yamashapa. We go to Yokohama, Chinatown. [Music] It’s actually Japan’s largest Chinatown, full of restaurants, street food, and souvenir shops. The area has a long history and it started in 1859 when Yokohama opened as one of Japan’s first international ports and many Chinese traders settled here. It’s always packed but definitely worth a visit. [Music] I’ve been looking out for myself. [Music] Yeah. [Music] Yeah. When you thought you me out of [Music] [Music] Maybe I’m lost. Should have seen it coming my way now. [Music] Oh. [Music] Oh yeah. Since you been gone, everything is starting to fade out. Yeah. It’s starting to fade down. When you told me it’s over. Yeah. Yeah. So yeah, so yeah, [Music] I never thought you me. To end the day, we went back near Yamashita Park for dinner at the W House. It’s right by the waterfront with a nice open terrace that’s pet friendly. They serve craft beers, grilled meat, and you can sit outside, enjoy the breeze, and just relax after a long day of walking. [Music] One night. [Music] Test test test. Test test test. Okay, guys. This is the Let’s try it. A little fruity, but not as fruity. Still quite good. How about this out to? Yes. Oh, this is a bit more bitter. Quite nice. Quite nice. More bitter than the previous one. This Oh, this is just a little bit more bitter, but still good. Let’s try the hamakuro. My god, this is not stout. This is the most fruity among the four. M. It’s so weird. This is the most fruity among all. Very good. How about you, Runa? Okay. [Music] [Music] One late night. One night. [Music] One night. [Music] And that wraps up our day in Yokohama. Hopefully this video gave you some idea if you’re looking for dog friendly spots around the city.
