Mayor Baek Seonghyeon: “Nonsan’s Agricultural and Food Products Are Globally Recognized… Establishing a Stable Foothold in the Japanese Market”

Nonsan City in South Chungcheong Province has joined forces with major local distributors in Osaka, Japan, to expand the entry of regional agricultural products into the Japanese market.
On November 6, Nonsan City announced that it had signed export agreements worth a total of 700,000 US dollars (approximately 1 billion KRW) with six local distribution companies at the Hotel Royal Classic in Osaka.
As a result, the city will begin in earnest to enter the Japanese distribution network with its signature agricultural and food products, including strawberries, salted seafood, and red pepper paste.
According to the city, the agreement involved Osaka-based distribution specialists such as Momodiz Co., Ltd., Nanatsuboshi Co., Ltd., Flatfood Co., Ltd., Seikobutsuryu Co., Ltd., JN Global, and Italian Food Co., Ltd.
Both sides agreed to cooperate on the exchange and export of fresh agricultural products and processed foods, establish stable sales channels, and strengthen ongoing exchanges.
Mayor Baek Seonghyeon attended the signing ceremony, where he and the representatives of the Japanese distributors signed the agreement, reaffirming their commitment to mutual cooperation for expanding exports of Nonsan’s agricultural and food products.
From November 5 to 8, the city will hold a “Nonsan Agricultural and Processed Food Special Promotion Event” at Kanshoku Town in Osaka, featuring tasting, promotional, and on-site sales events targeting Japanese consumers.
Mayor Baek Seonghyeon stated, “The quality of Nonsan’s agricultural and food products is recognized worldwide. Starting with the Japanese market, we will broaden our global export base and strive to increase local farmers’ income and strengthen export competitiveness.”
