Seen those at 7-11. I’ve had the ones in Japan and I seriously doubt these are going to be on that same level and I don’t think I want to risk it given the price.
dinkydez
Interesting! Probably not the same quality or flavor at all, unfortunately.
NotYourMom132
$5.50 and smaller lmao, the cost of freedom I guess?
char_binx
Japanese ones don’t have crusts on
HuskyFord
I’ve gotten this. While still better than American egg sandwiches, the bread isn’t quite right and neither is the freshness. Price is a bit much too. Overall it’s probably 6/10, where I would get again but only if my other options sucked.

I’ve had 卵サンド at all the kombini brands in Japan. The version at American 7-11s isn’t terrible. It’s pretty good compared to what we’ve gotten in the past, but it’s still lacking.
The milk bread is pretty spot on. But the eggs are rubbery and the mayo is different.
GingerPrince72
The egg sandwich thing really is a joke,Instagram bullshit with people excited about one of the most utterly mediocre things you can eat in Japan. A crime .
SenseiRaheem
What’s the usual cost for one of these in Japan vs the $5.49 price tag from OP?
Honest_Ad2601
I believe Japanese 7-11 (or its stock holding company) owns American 7-11 company. Yes the child bought its parent years ago. Now a big fund in America has been bidding to buy all or some of 7-11 Japan. A dog eating another dog business here!
nasanu
Looks a ton neater than the ones here, but also the packaging you show is super wasteful. Oh and your bread is a lot thicker and darker.
rktn_p
imagine spending more than 800¥ for this…
work-throw-away-420
awesome! i keep checking, and cannot wait!

Where’s my spaghetti and potato korokke on a hot dog bun? I need my carb on carb on carb action!
keyboredwarrior
Japanese bread is milk bread and this one looks like some sort of wheat
Pug_tech
Just tried it, significantly better than the american versions like damn lmao, definitely not on par with the japanese but aside fromnthe crust its not terribly far off
AmazingJapanlifer
Imagine if they imported these all the way from Japan
-mystris-
There’s something about it that I can’t quite put my finger on – like, it doesn’t look like egg salad, it looks like solid butter
corntorteeya
Bring the ピザマン(pizza steamed bun) and we’ll talk.
Ucfknight33
Besides the bread being just thick meh, the egg salad tastes much more like American egg salad with their mayo and just not the same flavor profile as Japanese egg salad.
Jay-Storm
Just got back from Japan and theirs were 230 Yen which is $1.49 US
kayayem
The bread does not look right AT ALL. It looks dry and like it would actually hurt my mouth.
wikowiko33
Why dont japanese convenient stores just open in USA? I mean you guys really like these stuff right?
Unusual_Score_6712
Such heavy duty packaging
honeyjars
Anybody seen melonpan yet?
ComaToast444
This looks nothing at all like the ones I see from Japan
Bitter_Spray_6880
Hahaha, nope, keep on dreaming for now
IRGROUP300

EvilBill515
