Following a highly successful tour that has already attracted over 350,000 visitors in cities like Nagoya, Milan, and Fukuoka, the “Moving Ukiyo-e Exhibition” is heading to Osaka.
The immersive digital art museum, produced by Ikki Co., Ltd., will open at Grand Front Osaka on January 17, 2026.

The exhibition uses modern technology to bring masterpieces from legendary ukiyo-e artists to life, allowing visitors to step directly into the world of traditional Japanese art.

Event Overview

The “Moving Ukiyo-e Exhibition OSAKA” is a digital art experience that transforms over 300 works from world-famous artists—including Katsushika Hokusai, Utagawa Kuniyoshi, Utagawa Hiroshige, and Kitagawa Utamaro—into dynamic graphical art.

Using 3DCG animation and projection mapping, the exhibition presents these classic works in multiple three-dimensional video spaces, allowing visitors of all ages to be fully immersed in the fantastical world of ukiyo-e.

In a departure from traditional art shows, photography and videography are permitted throughout the entire venue.

The exhibition is organized by the Moving Ukiyo-e Exhibition OSAKA Executive Committee, which includes TV Osaka and Nihon Keizai Shimbun.

Ticket information and pricing details are scheduled to be released in mid-November.
