I took the Wine Valley Train from Yudanaka to Nagano and enjoyed various Nagano-produced wines. Yudanaka Station is the closest station to the famous Snow Monkey Park.

This reminds me…they are offering a wine train in Wisconsin not that far from me. My mom was interested in it.
$50 for all you can drink wine and a bento? It's not a bad deal. The scenery during the train ride was worth paying that price as well. Thanks for the tip about the snow monkeys being absent in the fall. It's one of the cooler looking trains, I must say. Thanks for sharing! ❤

I'm kind of puzzled why you had to take a train, take a bus, and then walk to get to a train station. Shouldn't a train have taken you there?
I found the bento mystifying, except for the pasta in the center. Then was amused to see you did too! Surprising to see it was mostly Western style food.

Although japanese sake is revered in almost every county on earth, 'classic' wine, like merlot or cabernet sauvignon from Japan is not very wellknown in wine circles. I applaud the effort of the wineries, and I hope to taste these wines myself someday. ❤

Well, this type of train is for me! Fantastic choice of good quality wines and food that complement each other!! SIGN ME UP!! Nothing but a relaxing train ride in the afternoon, in great weather throughout the valley, I'll take that any day. Your guessing on the foods was excellent; some of them had me fooled. So, let's see what the next "Wine Tour" has to offer,
