Television audiences expressed concern for President Donald Trump after he seemed to lose his bearings during a meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi.
Viewers watching live coverage of the visit voiced their worries about Trump’s apparent “confusion” as he seemed to wander without purpose and saluted at an inappropriate moment.
In a widely shared news clip, the 79-year-old leader was seen being escorted around a room packed with military personnel and dignitaries. At one moment, Trump saluted the US and Japanese flags before continuing to walk, leaving Takaichi behind to bow to the flags by herself.
On two separate occasions, she needed to direct him where to go – raising alarm among those watching from home.
One viewer posted on X/Twitter: “Trump confused, saluting when he wasn’t supposed to, and had to be shown the right way to walk by the PM of Japan.”
“I did. I got an MRI. It was perfect,” the president informed reporters aboard Air Force One on Monday as he embarked on a week-long trip to Asia. However, he did not disclose the reason for the medical test.
“The doctor said I.T. was some of the best reports, for the age, they’ve ever seen,” Trump stated on Monday.
Health concerns have arisen following President Trump’s recent visit to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where he reportedly underwent an MRI scan.
Presidential physician Dr. Sean Barbabella described Trump’s appointment as a “scheduled follow-up evaluation” that was part of his “as part of his ongoing health maintenance plan and included advanced imaging, laboratory testing, and preventative health assessments”.
The statement further noted that the president “continues to demonstrate excellent overall health”.
