初めての岡山旅行!倉敷街歩きとレトロカフェでまったり過ごす1泊2日

In September, when the heat still lingers, and I’m heading off on a two-day, one-night trip to Okayama. It’s a short 1 hour 15 minute flight from Haneda I was halfway through the movie when the landing announcement came on. From the airport, I took a bus to Okayama Station . Arriving at the west exit of Okayama Station This is my first time in Okayama. First, I headed to Okayama Castle. I went through the station’s connecting passage to the east exit. Just before getting off at the east exit, I left my luggage in a locker near the Shinkansen ticket gate. I’m going to take the tram now. I got off at Shiroshita Station. I went underground and across the intersection. I decided to have lunch first. It’s “Ebimeshi,” a specialty of Okayama It’s quite dark in color, a little spicy, and rich and delicious. I walked through the park and along the river. The castle came into view. Wonderful stone wall. Okayama Castle is also known as “Ujo” (Crow Castle) because of its black exterior walls. Inside the castle, there was an exhibit that explained the history of Okayama and the castle’s structure. I crossed Tsukimi Bridge and headed to Korakuen Garden I could see the boat dock . The peach-shaped boat is cute. This is a fork in the road. The left path leads to the main gate, which is a short distance away. A lush lawn stretches out before you. This beautiful strolling garden was built by the lord of Okayama in the early Edo period. There are various plants, ponds, and rivers, and you can enjoy the scenery of the four seasons. I took a leisurely stroll. It was very spacious. I took the tram back to Okayama Station, this time heading to Kurashiki by train. Arriving at Kurashiki Station, I walked along a shortcut to the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter, which had a nostalgic atmosphere. I headed to the hotel. The hallway was impressive with its red and black tiles. The entire building was renovated in 2020, and the interior is very beautiful. The rooms have a simple and calm atmosphere. After taking a break and relaxing, it was time for dinner. The shop “Shinsui” is marked by a red lantern. The interior is charming and relaxing, with a historic feel. Everything looks delicious, and I can’t decide what to order. This is Okayama’s local dish, mamakari (pickled herring). Several types of oden and Japanese beef tendon miso stew The oden was very elegantly seasoned. Then, the cream croquette was delicious. We also tried a variety of other dishes, such as conger eel, tempura, and takana rice balls. Everything was delicious. The quiet city at night is beautiful. Good morning. On the second day of our trip, we had a buffet breakfast at the hotel restaurant. After breakfast I took a walk around the hotel. This is the main entrance of the hotel, which we didn’t pass by yesterday. This beautiful brick building, covered in ivy, was originally a spinning mill built during the Meiji period. checked out at 10 a.m. I left my luggage at the front desk and went out sightseeing. The first place I visited was the Kurabo Memorial Museum. The museum exhibits historical materials from over 130 years of Kurashiki Spinning. A wonderful view of the boats slowly sailing along the river and the beautiful buildings lining the street. Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter is a popular tourist destination where you can enjoy walking around the city while enjoying the scenery. While strolling around, I often came across denim shops. The area is close to the Kojima district of Kurashiki City, famous as the birthplace of domestically produced jeans, so there are many shops nearby. There was a rest area on the second floor of the tourist information center. This is the Ohara Museum of Art, and the building is beautiful. This private art museum houses works by world-famous masters such as El Greco and Monet. The water lilies in Monet’s garden are very beautiful. There is a museum shop near the museum. There were lots of great items and it was fun to look at them. I went down a side street and found a lovely alley. “The Back Alley of the Namako Wall.” The contrast of black and white is beautiful. I was happy to be able to experience the historic townscape. I had udon for lunch. I think I’ll have dessert here. Bizen Pottery Gallery “Kurashiki Ichiyogama” The cafe is on the second floor. Uji Milk Kintoki Very satisfied and the matcha was also delicious. The rustic texture of Bizen ware, without the glaze, is lovely. The souvenir is, of course, “kibi dango.” Kurashiki City, home to Kamoi Kakoshi, famous for “mt,” is the birthplace of masking tape. I saw masking tape in various shops. I head to a cafe I’ve been interested in. There is an impressive red gate at the entrance. This is `Kurashiki kōhī-kan’, a specialty roasted coffee shop founded in 1971. When I order… The saucer was brought first. Today’s coffee was “Brazil Santos.” At a lovely cafe I stopped by during my trip, Spending time drinking delicious coffee It was a very happy time. The time for the flight is approaching. Take a bus from Kurashiki Station to the airport. Arriving at Okayama Airport my first time in Okayama was a short but enjoyable experience. See you again!
