Ive been looking for cars on Facebook and came across this Chaser. Ive seen complaints on GX100s though which makes me unsure. Im 17 and just wanna get to point a to point b while in a semi good looking and functional car.
If you want a chaser just for looks then yeah, but your missing out on the turbo engine and a fun manual with no 1jzgte.
Its a difference of around 100HP less your leaving on the table and much less torque around 180Nm less torque if you want numbers.

How much do they want for it?
For looks sure it’s fine, but the 1G engine is an econo-box engine, so unlikely you’ll find much worth doing to it as far as power goes, but it would be as reliable and economic as a 2000s Toyota could be.
If you bought this, you’d basically be resigning yourself to only doing aesthetic modifications as it would just not be worth the financial investment for power gains compared to having a JZ engine, or even an M engine.

Honestly no, first car will probably suffer damages, bad decisions and other first car shit. Any repairs whether mechanical or body wise on an import will be extremely expensive as the parts will be less common and might have to be imported. With tariffs it’s not as easy now to get stuff imported sometimes. So if it’s something necessary for the car to function you could be left carless for a while. If you like the body style maybe get a Lexus LS 400 and a body kit. Imported cars should be secondary cars. Unless you’re rich then fuck it.

Jzx 100 is better the gx is the poverty spec engine.

I guess it depends on where you are. In the US? No. Parts are going to be a bit more of a challenge to find than if it was a car that also had a model in the US (Toyota soarer, Toyota Hilux surf, Honda integra, etc). Things become a little more of a challenge when you buy something that’s exclusive to Japan. same reason a skyline isn’t the best first car. The other issues is the maintenance, unless you’re doing it yourself, many shops won’t want to deal with a specialty vehicle like that where they’d have to import parts. A Toyota dealership probably would, but they don’t call them Stealerships for nothing. Finally, there’d be the issue of buying your first car and it’s already RHD. I’d just recommend getting used to driving LHD first.
These are all very dependent on where you live and other factors like your driver experience though.
But I wouldn’t recommend it as a first car, personally.
