I used to buy these in the USA, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen them in Japan, which is weird. Going to have to look harder. Export only packaging?
My go-to, though, are Yukari and Akari from Mishima. They’re easy to get, cheap, powerful (a little goes a long way), and the shelf life is stupid long. Beyond those, it’s always fun to try new ones I discover, and sometimes make my own. Always go back to those first two, though.

Aji douraku is my absolute favorite! For those who don’t know, it’s basically katsuobushi with some extra stuff in there.
Plain Nori gets used most in my kitchen, but I was raised on Katsuo and it’s probably my true favorite. Yasai when I’m in the mood, and Shiso once in a while.
