Shimizu One Day Trip | Stunning Mount Fuji Views
Seeing the legendary Mount Fuji had been a dream of ours for as long as we could remember. During our Japan cruise, we finally got the chance with a stop at the port of Shimitsu. We arrived in the city early in the morning, full of excitement, but at first disappointment. The entire area was cloudy and misty. We stepped off the ship and were greeted at the port by cheerful local musicians. F music instantly lifting our spirits. Shimitsu itself is a quiet town. So after a short stroll through its streets, we made our way to a local fish market. There we sampled all kinds of tuna dishes. This place is famous for having some of the best tuna in the world, and it did not disappoint. As the day went off, the sky began to clear. And then where it was, Mount Fuji in all its glory finally revealed itself. Seeing Japan’s sacred mountain rising majestically against the sky was a moment we’ll never forget. To top it all off, as we sailed away that evening, the sky was painted in breathtaking shades of golden pink. The most beautiful sunset of our entire trip to Japan. What started as a cloudy, uncertain morning turned into one of the most unforgettable days of our cruise.
