Ultimate Tokyo Travel Guide: 3 Days Eating, Exploring & Experiencing Tokyo

[Music] Today I’m taking you to a place that has been at the top of my bucket list for years. And finally, we’re here. Welcome to Japan. I can’t believe I’m finally saying that. So exciting. In this, guys, I’m going to be bringing you along our journey through Tokyo as we explore this vibrant city. Let’s get to day one. Why don’t we? First, I have to recover from the jet lag. And I’ll see you tomorrow. It is our first day in Tokyo. We’re staying at the Moxy Tokyo Kinchiko. And this spot is super modern. And our room is really cute. They’re very smart on space. As you walk in, there’s all these hooks on the wall. And you have a table that you can pull out. You have an additional chair. I think this is the design is very organic and very smart. Wow. Downstairs they do have breakfast every morning here which is ideal. This whole area is the breakfast area and we have a ton of really yummy things to choose from. There’s bacon, sausage, potatoes, eggs. Over here you have your pastries. You have like ham and cheese, salad type stuff. My personal go-to is gonna be this one, a soup station. I love soup, so the fact that we can have soup for breakfast, like I’m I I’m obsessed with Japan already. That is my favorite type of food. Thank you. Thank you so much. Nice. I’m ready for the day. One of the things about Tokyo that I’ve never seen in another city is they literally have no garbages anywhere. Yeah. So, you have to bring your garbage with you. If you’re at a restaurant or something, you throw it out there. But like in between, no garbages. And I heard it’s because several years ago there was a bomb that someone put in a garbage and then after that the city was like, “Yep, you guys ruined your privileges. No more garbages. Carry your garbage.” Yeah, which you know I respect it. It’s been like 20 minutes and we haven’t even gotten on the train. This has been the most confusing process ever. We have to go to an ATM to get cash or you can’t buy these cards. Please insert your card. Oh, we have to get the card. I have no idea what that is. We bought this. I don’t know what this is. If anyone knows what this is, you can have it. Oh my god. Finally got the car. This is literally the hardest process of buying public transportation I have had in any city on this planet. Okay, now let’s get in the subway and actually go where we’re supposed to be going. [Music] This is so cute since this is a purple train and everything’s purple in here. I love that New York should do that. I have to give them credit here. These are like legit sofas. Very comfortable. They travel in style here in Tokyo. [Music] We are here in the Chu Ward. I apologize in advance for my pronunciation of things throughout this video. Like I apologize. We’re going to Tsukiji Outer Market. I apologize again for that pronunciation. But this is a really famous market that has a lot of classic Japanese cuisine. They’re known for their fresh sushi. They also have great street food. They have Wagu skewers, which I know you’ll be having. Louie, my cousin just got here. It’s her 40th birthday. Happy birthday. [Music] I traveled 15,000 miles to get away from my family. Yeah. And I’m back. Fun fact about this market is if you’ve seen the Netflix documentary Heroes, essentially the original sushi shop he had was here, which it’s one of the best sushi places in the entire world. And that kind of like sets the standard for the quality that you can expect here. The first freaking sushi in Japan. I’ve been waiting for this moment for my entire life. Have you had sushi here yet? No. Oh my god. That’s the wrong way. Oh. It’s so good. It’s so good. It’s like butter. It’s so much better than any sushi I’ve ever had. How is the rice so much better? I don’t know. I don’t know what they do. This one. It’s tuna, right? Mhm. Wow. Why is that so much better than It’s also like a different color. Different color. I think it’s more of like a fatty tuna. $27. I mean, for the quality, I think the quality is Yeah. For the quality. Yes, I will give them that. Also, I think that if you’re like a local, maybe you get a better rate. Oh, yeah. Well, that was gone in a second. 2 minutes. $27 as soon as you gone in 2 minutes. Should we get more? Let’s just try like all the stalls. Don’t just go to the first place you see. Like, walk around first cuz there are different prices. Like, each stall has different prices. All right, we have our Wagu skewers here and they have like some different sauce. Wow, that’s right. I’m speechless. I’m very happy right now. This is better than most restaurants. All right, I think I have eel liver. At least that’s what it said. Eel liver. Go for it. Try it. Tastes like liver. I will trying to eat ill liver. I hate liver. Look, Sarah, you should try it. For sure. No. Here, have one like this. Just have it like that. No. No. I think this one’s scallops. Scallops. That is to be seen. We don’t even know. We’re just eating. Good. That one’s good. It’s scallops. Mhm. Oh, okay. Is that eel? Eel. Oh, okay. That’s a more normal one. This one lives inside of this one. This one eel. That was good. That one’s good. I don’t think there’s something that you’ve never not eaten. You even eat bones sometimes if they’re crunchy enough, which is almost physically impossible. So, if you don’t try them. In this market, they also have a ton of knife shops and specialty shops. So, I think we should go see some of these knife shops cuz I know that you love a good cooking knife. So, we found a knife shop. I’m pretty sure they won’t let us bring that one in the carry-on luggage. These knives, these are beautiful. They have a pretty design on them, too. So, some of these knives are like thousands. Like this one down here. $3,000. Is it worth it? I don’t know. I’m not going to buy it, but someone should. And let me know if it’s worth $3,000 for one night. So, a short walk from the markets, you have this beautiful spot. This is the Hemare Gardens and this was originally built for the royal family. It’s really nice. They have this gorgeous pond over here and you can actually get matcha here in their tea houses which is right behind me and then walk along this gorgeous bridge and just take a seat and like take in the views. Look at this. This is so beautiful. One of the things that’s really great about these gardens is that you get a really nice contrast in landscape. So you have these beautiful traditional Japanese gardens. Then behind you have the modern architecture of Tokyo. So it provides a really interesting view. And just to think that as you’re here like you’re walking along the royal grounds is really nice. I mean so pretty, so peaceful. It also smells amazing. By the way, [Music] We made it to the river after that lovely garden. And now we’re going on this really cool boat right here. This is called a Yakata boat. How do you say it? She, by the way, she took Japanese for 6 months. Just dropped that bomb on me now. How do you say it? Yaka. That’s what I just said. Yakata. There is going to be some type of performance and we’re going to see the sights of Tokyo. There are unlimited drinks, so the video from this point on is a big question mark. [Music] [Music] There you go. Cheers. Look how much sake is in this. Okay, this is this is 16%. So, it’s really been a nice time knowing you. This is like a glass of water. They they just like poured it in like I was like, “Could I have a water?” He’s like, “Here’s a cold cup of sake.” There was no shant going on with it. [Applause] You know, I’ve tried a lot of liquor in my day and I respect sake. It’s not my first choice, but you know, when in Japan, we are in the Tokyo Bay. You can see the rainbow bridge right over here. And then Tokyo Tower. There’s a mini Statue of Liberty here. It’s underneath the bridge. It’s so hard to see, but it’s there and that’s what matters. So, the Rainbow Bridge is called the Rainbow Bridge, although it’s not actually rainbow. It only lights up rainbow during holidays, like Christmas. And it’s modeled off of the Golden Gate Bridge, but it’s not red. And it’s about a quarter of the size. See right there? Thank you, is from perfect. Oh, gifts. That’s nice. That’s a nice touch. This coin, it’s like prosperity, like good fortune, things like that. Essentially little gift you get at the end of this. How fun is that? Cheers to that. I haven’t said that in a while because Lucas always was like, you always say cheers to that in your videos. Cheers to that. Cheers to that. Cheers. I haven’t said that in a while. very cute cruise. You get a little bit of everything. You can also add on a meal by the way, but we just did the unlimited drinks, alcoholic ones, snacks. You get the show, you get a little tour, you see the site. Love it. My only complaint is I wish it was longer. I feel like an hour is not enough. I would stay here for even longer. [Music] The great thing about public bathrooms in Japan is most of the time they are pristine. Absolutely clean. Most have beds. Not this one. It’s still cleaner than any American public bathroom. My friends probably. This is what we’re working with right outside of the boat cruise. And I am just really terrified about how this is going to go down right now. All right. How do you flush this? Not my favorite experience. I’m not like I’ve every toilet in Japan has been incredible except of course this one. It’s like it reminds me of Morocco. You guys are going to go there soon. You’ll see. [Music] There’s a lot of stores here. And the shirts are unbelievable. This one we have, what an excellent day for an exorcism. It’s just like what? There’s just so like such funny English sayings on some of these shirts. Like this one. It’s just random letters and numbers like someone fell on a keyboard. I love it. Here’s another one. I wish you were dead. Like what? Like just like Michael seems dead. Who’s Michael? I don’t know. I don’t know who Michael is. question. Um, what is this? What is that? What is that? Is it what? I think it is probably I’m so relaxed. What do you think this? Why are you so relaxed? I just came back to that. Oh, you just came back from that. That’s pretty good. I’m very relaxed. What was it? It says all Japanese foreigners welcome. So, I’m welcome. I just want to know like what what is it? This is a cafe where I think the girls dress like this. Yes. Am I interpreting this right? Louie, what do you think? The girls dress like cats that are nurses. That’s amazing. It’s amazing. Your vets just meow meow. I’m not even joking. That’s amazing. I just love how interesting the things they come up with here in Tokyo are. It’s like I’ve never seen anything like this. I’ve never seen anything like this either. It’s just a store filled with vending machines. Call this gacha pond. Are you doing gacha pond? Oh, this is 300. This is just cat balls. I know. Should I get cat balls or should I get a scared cat? I mean, the cat balls are quite funny to me. But is there going to be a cat on it? No. What? Oh, it’s a keychain. Scared cat. I don’t know. Either one. There’s also a cat drinking. I would do the cat balls personally. I would do the cat balls, right? Yes. Did you get it? Did it come out? Okay. I think we may need assistant. Oh, thank Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. The moment of truth. The moment of truth. Literally cat balls. Literally cat balls. Oh, and they’re soft. They’re so soft. So weird. So funny. I like how they incorporate the little cat. Yeah. So, you know what? So, just so you know, for real, too. So, you could get a black cat cat ball or a blonde cat ball or a white Oh, they have all different Yes. They don’t discriminate here. If you need cat balls, you can get them here. I don’t see how we could top that as a birthday gift. You know what I mean? Like, forget about plane tickets to Japan. Yeah. Like, balls. Cat balls. Cat Balls is the way to go. Catballs store if you’re interested. We’re here at Gongcha, my favorite bubble tea spot. You love bubble tea. I love bubble tea. This is a perfect day. Cat balls, bubble tea. What other ball things can we get? Unlimited balls. Japan is just unlike anywhere I’ve ever been so far. Yeah, I love it. I love it. Look at this. It’s like an assembly line they have here. I’ve never I’ve been to a lot of gong chaws, but I’ve never seen this type of setup we got going on here. [Music] Thank you. Yes, got the bubble tea. We finished shopping. That was some crazy stuff. And now we’re doing more crazy stuff. This spot is called Kumachin Onen. It’s like a teddy bear themed cafe and you get to choose a headband from this amazing box to wear while you dine with all teddy bear themed things. I feel like this is like the best 40 birthday idea ever. The dishes have like actual teddy bears made of ramen apparently. Let’s go see the real deal sitch. One that matches my skin color. That one like it looks a little crazy. I think the balls would be cleaner. This is amazing. Oh, there we go. There we go. I’m about to cry. I’m happy. We have been given these story books. This is how you order. This is a menu essentially. It’s a story of the menu. We can choose the bear color. I’m going to go with blue. Louis says he’s going to go with white cuz he likes white. That’s the polar bear. One day, PapaKuma, who absolutely loved hot springs, set off on a journey around Hokuchi. Huchi, I can’t pronounce. In search of a hot spring. Oh, is this how we ended up in soup? Yeah. This is how we ended up in ramen. Essentially, this is teaching us how to actually eat the bear, which is amazing. The first step is if you warm it up, the bear will start to melt. Third, the bear lay when your bear lays down, please pour your broth soup base into the pot. How is this even edible? It’s like It feels like a slimy ball. Okay, so I didn’t understand what this was cuz I’m like, is this like a noodle? Like what is this? It’s broth. Like it. You know how like real broth gets hard when it’s cold? Collagen. Good for the skin, which I desperately need. Let’s be real. You can choose different colors. Look at Rachel. Like a freaking little salmon. So accurate. And Louis, you got a white bear cuz you just love white things. Look at all the bears. They’re all a family. A family of bears. So now since the bear is laying down, I put this in here. Oh, you mix it. Nice. Yours looks so good, Rachel. I want to do my cabbage. I don’t think it’s cooked yet. Oh, really? I added everything to this pot. The bear is pretty much melted. Half melted. So good. It’s like sometimes you think places like this like cuz they have they they look cute aren’t good, but this spot is so legit. 10 out of 10. And with that, I’m done for this day. Cheers. [Music] It is day two here in Tokyo and we are going to be doing street carts today, which is probably one of the coolest things I’ve heard you can do here in Tokyo. Essentially, what we’re going to be doing is getting in one of these like Mario Karts and driving through the city. It’s a tour experience. This company we did through is called Street Cart. Uh you can get at streetcart.com. And upstairs, you get to choose a costume to wear as well. You can wear like all different types of like cartoon characters. Let’s go choose our costume. I will say that one thing about this is this isn’t like something you can really do spontaneously cuz you have to get an international driver’s license. So, before we even came to Japan, I got an international driver’s license. It takes like 2 seconds. We have all these costumes that we can choose from. It is so hot today. So, I don’t think I’m going to be wearing a costume, but let’s just take a look at some of the options. This is Piglet. This would be perfect if it was colder outside, cuz 1,000% I would be down for this. Oh, this is like Angry Birds with the hood. Has a freaking cape. Oh, it’s a peacock. The cat from Alice in Wonderland. What’s that cat called? The Cheshure cat. Does it have a tail? Sure does. Sure has a tail. We can just do like a helmet cover. We could do Nemo. I like how bright this is. Wait, do I like put this on my Is this go over the helmet? Does this look good? This I look so cool. Like I don’t think I’ve ever looked this pilot. I look like a pilot. Oh, I could do Pikachu. That’s pretty good. That’s pretty good. Cuz look at the ears. Which one looks best? This looks like I have socks that are filled with like more socks on the sides of my ears. Do we look amazing? Let’s go drive through Tokyo. Just finished Street Carts through the area. And oh my god, that was so cool. Highly recommend that. I’ve never seen a city that way. And it’s just so fun and so different. You do the Shaboya crossing several times. And I feel like like when you were going fast, it felt so fast. The fastest we ever went was like 40 m an hour, but it just felt like a gazillion. And now we are going to do something else that has been on our bucket list. Conveyor belt sushi. Conveyor belt sushi. These are essentials when you’re here in Tokyo. This one is called Kura Sushi. Kura Sushi. Kura Sushi. This was recommended by the guys from the street cart. So, I always love taking local recommendations. I feel like locals know the real deal. And we’re going to give it a try. We found it. We’re here. Here it is. Here it is. Nah, I kind of like how in Japan they do a lot of things where it’s like you don’t talk to people. Like it’s like all through like a kiosk. It’s my style. Guy turn it on. It’s very overwhelming. Yeah. It’s like wo. It’s like all robots. Like everything is roped like a robot. You check in here. You get your number. Now we’re sitting down in our in our booth. Still haven’t spoken to a single person that works here. Look at this. It just goes empty plates in here is what you’re That’s what you’re telling me. And then that’s how it knows what to charge you. And then under these we have our sauces. Sauce. And here we have chopsticks and then utensils. Got my first dish. Oh, wait. Was I not supposed to take this? Maybe not. Illegal. Deported. You’re deported. Oh, I want this one. That’s a good one. Get that one. This one looks good. Look at that. Sarah’s gone to the left place to herself. I Because I’ve been at these places before and if you don’t just grab it like then you just you just miss your opportunity. Yeah. Oh, I want that one. We won. We won. What? Oh my gosh. What is it? What is it? Pet balls. I’ve gotten an anime magnet. An anime magnet. Look at this guy. Every five plates you slide through here, you get to play this game. And if you win the game, oh, my green tea’s here. Sorry about that. But anyway, so if you play the game and you win, then boom, you get an anime magnet. [Music] There’s nothing more Japanese than making your own chopsticks. So, I’m here at Craft Chopstick Factory and we are going to make our own chopsticks. You can choose your different chopstick type of wood. There’s all different types. I chose the softest one so it’s easiest to carve. So this is a little chopstick carver. It’s very similar. Now we got to sand. So you don’t want a sharp chopstick cuz you’re going to put it in your mouth, right? This is bamboo. And that’s how you get that really nice smooth shiny chopstick texture. [Music] Look at that. The perfect little souvenir to bring back from Japan. So cute. [Music] I love a cocktail bar. So, after that chopstick making class, we’re here at the SG Club, which is one of the best bars in the world. They actually won all of these awards. Look at this. Look at this long list. From like Asia’s top 50 best bars to literally most recently the top 50 bars in the world, they are on that list. Let’s go try it. Come on. This is a tomium cocktail. Louis says it tastes like soup, which is strange concept to me. Let’s see. Tastes like a curry. So good. It tastes like that coconut curry soup, but refreshing. I know that sounds so weird and like No, you’ll never believe me until you try it. I got like a spicy citrusy mezcow cocktail. So good to have a good cocktail finally. [Music] It is day three in Tokyo and we actually moved to a new hotel called the Aloft Tokyo Ginsza. We’re here right now. One of the things that I like doing is just like staying in different neighborhoods when you’re exploring a city because just like you know my hometown New York, every neighborhood had its own flavor. So it feels very much like Fifth Avenue. Like there’s like Tiffany stores and Gucci and it’s fashionable and like urban and high energy and I love just exploring this neighborhood. This hotel room is so nice. It’s very spacious. They actually put us on the 14th floor. So we have this really nice view here of Ginsa looking out to all the buildings. Plus there’s breakfast downstairs. So we just had our breakfast. It was phenomenal. There was so many options. I had like this rice curry thing that was so good. So, we have a very special thing that we are planning to do today. So, let’s go. Never travel anywhere without a charging port. Let me tell you something. This one I’m obsessed with. I just bought it from Ankor. Look at this. Okay, first off, yes, it’s kind of a brick, but if you’re like love taking photos and video like me, this is essential. Plus, we have not like run out of battery between the four of us. This thing has charged everyone’s phones. It has charged my mics like the gimbal that we’re using right now. Look at this. These things. And then the handle. It looks like a handle, but it’s actually another cable. And then there’s like ports here. This is the greatest thing. It’s not sponsored, but H Anchor, feel free to sponsor me anytime cuz your products are amazing. We got bag of nuts cuz you got to keep that energy up. I took that from breakfast. Thank you to a Tokyo Ginsza for this. Got my camera. Did I forget anything? Why aren’t there pockets in women’s clothes? Like, what am I going to do? I just That’s what we’re doing. Okay. One of the best ways to see the city is always through a tour. And so, we are doing a tour with Cisco. Hello. Cisco. Welcome from New York. Yes. Both of us. We are guys. You’re the best. I found you through tours by local and I was like, how did you find me? I love having like women guys as a like womanowned business, you know? I have a womanowned tour business in New York and you had really good reviews. We just saw this theater. This is the Kubuka Kabuki Kabuki Theater. Kabuki Theater. Thing about this theater is that only men perform the roles just like in old Shakespeare times, which I think is so interesting. And the tickets are reasonable. It’s only like a,000 yen. So Cisco is saying that you don’t necessarily know if a place is good just because it has a long line. Yeah. So what’s Do you have a secret to like identifying a good spot to eat? If you want to try just just only one piece, two piece very nice tuna. I think in Japan definitely I would recommend try to eat the tuna. Tuna is the thing to get. Yeah. Tuna that’s what you get here. Yeah. Almost 100 years ago they opened here fish market. Can you see the old fabric? You could see the now whole um empty land. That one used to be the tuna auction. Famous road tuna auction place and also wholesale shops are there over there. She said is come right here and go inside. This is where you’re going to get those really great prices for the tuna, which is what you should have here at the market. And I’m going to show you an actual good price. 800 yen. That’s what you’re looking for. When Rachel and I first had sushi here, we definitely paid $27. Just learned that we got scammed. And that’s what you get when you are a tourist, which is why you watch these videos so that you don’t get scammed. And you only pay $5 whereas we paid 27. Yes. Correct. Retail street. Yeah, this is retail street. But the prices here are even better. And um she was just pointing out that this is what wasabi looks like. Does it grow in water? Yeah. Grow in the water. Oh, I didn’t know that. Wasabi grows in water. And the best comes from Mount Fuji. The more you know. Yeah. On top of the fish market, they have this lovely little roof. And that’s where we’re going to eat the sushi we just bought, which is a fatty tuna. And it looks so good. I had to get it. The price was only 800 yen for this. Way less than we paid the other day. She said that a lot of locals actually go downstairs and then buy the food and then barbecue it right up here on this rooftop. It seems like this is definitely the spot that locals come versus the outdoor fish market that you’ll see all the tourists at. Wasabi little piece little piece of like that. Oh, okay. Yeah. Yeah. Put that here. Then take the piece. One piece. Okay. Then dip the soy sauce. Then eat. Okay. Yeah. Then eat. Try that. Okay. Serious. Oh my god. It’s so much better than It’s so good. It’s like butter. It’s like butter. So good. How am I going to have sushi anywhere else? This is coffee milk ice cream. And that is a locally made beer. Like a dark beer. It’s really good. M. Tastes like um tastes like a milk tea. Milk come from that right there. I like that it’s not too sweet, too. I know. It’s like very like creamy and like refreshing. Rachel is modeling the size of a blue fin tuna. You can see it is bigger than your body. 230 kg and 2.3 m. Those measurements mean nothing to me as an American, but uh here are the conversions on screen. They’re huge. Cisco just informed us that these blueofin tuna at that size go for about $2,000 each, which is why fishing could be quite lucrative business here in Tokyo. This is the best tea shop. Marama. So, Maryama. Maryama. That’s where you go. Tea and also seaweed. Oh, nori. This is the best. Oh, okay. And they specialize in matcha. Yeah, matcha also. They have matcha. And this is 170 y. W 170 years old. This shop. Wow. 170 years old. Green tea. Oh, wow. Yeah. Look at that. What is that? He’s doing like a pouring technique. What is that? They do. So that you kind of want to move fast so they make the quality better. Exactly. Yeah. Oh, is these a samples? Sample. Yeah, you can try. Okay. Yeah. You try that. Yeah. It goes by fast. M. That’s like creamy. Is it good? Yeah. I feel healthier drinking it. Been told by the shop owner this is the best matcha green tea. So I just got this for my dad cuz he loves matcha green tea. And where else can you get the best stuff than here in Tokyo? Chopstick store. Chopstick store. That’s where you get the authentic chopstick. 900 yen. This is a very good price and you can choose from all different designs here. They’ll make you a crane of your country. Look at that. So fun. I have a Guatemalan one, so they gave me a custom one. We’re getting shot glass for his sister. Food squishy. What does that mean? It means go clean your room. So, this is the shop owner for the chopstick store. It’s a 100-year-old shop. And your grandfather started it? Yes. Amazing. Thank you. I’m so excited to use these chopstick. So amazing for you taking me to your beautiful car. Oh, thank you. Thank you. And thank you for the cranes and the pens. No, don’t worry. Have a have a nice day. Thank you. We have moved to Harajuku neighborhood which is filled with beautiful luxury stores. But if you’re like me and you’re always looking for a deal, there’s actually a street along it called Cat Street. It’s named after that because there used to be a bunch of cats in the area and now there’s not anymore. But what there is is a lot of luxury secondhand store. So if you’re looking for a deal, do that in Harajuku. If you heard of Harajuku Girls, that’s where you’re going to see some of them dressed in like the cute little outfits. Brought us to one of the best dumpling spots. What’s it called? Definitely. Harajuku Harajukua. We call dumpling. Japanese we call gyoza. Oh, okay. Harajuku is this area. Mhm. So harajiku low is less strong here. Harajiku ya dumpling specialist place and very cheap but very cheap. That’s delicious. Delicious. That’s the best thing. Even if you pay the big money, you can’t get the cheap. Perfect. That’s what I like. Cheap but the best quality. That’s all you need. You’re going to be excited about this because she said six dumplings are $2.50. 50. I’m getting $6 worth of That’s for sure. Loves a deal. What’s in the original one? Pork and vegetable. Pork and vegetable. This is so such a good deal. And also smells amazing. What we got here? 12 dumplings, clear soup, which is so good. And a huge bowl of rice. Oh, and also this. Bean sprout. Bean sprout. And bean sprout. What’s the sauce on top? I think uh beans pork pork mean $1,000 yen. That’s like $7. That’s so crazy. I’m just going to take a bite. I It’s like I’m probably going to regret that cuz it’s very hot, but this is a perfect temperature right now. So good. So flavorful. And this soup is amazing as well. And then the bean sprout you just kind of like eat like this. Bean sprout. Do you put it on the dumpling or No, you just eat it with rice or that [Music] the Takashika street. You say you keep calling this crazy street and I would like know why. Ah because because you could see lots of people tourist said world travelers never ever seen such a street. Okay. Because people take costume people want to show costume like you know Japan is animation. They love the anime. Sometimes people just dress like animation um you know hero of anime. This is truly crazy. It’s like a zoo. Crazy street. I think it’s like a zoo. I love this street. All these platform shoes. This is where you get like all that. Very interesting clothes. A tail if you want a tail. Luckily, my phone case broke here in Tokyo. So, maybe we’ll make a new one. Ooh, I’m designing my own phone case. You choose a blank one from the wall and then you can literally add like all of these cool designs. It’s going to look so cute with this pink theme. This is why I came to Japan to do this type of weird stuff. It’s gonna be great. They’re huge, but they’re cool. This is my masterpiece. It’s ready. Look at this. So cute. I can’t put it on until tomorrow, but I’m obsessed. Only $20 to design that phone case. There are a bunch of cafes here that have dogs. There’s one that’s otter. There’s ones that pigs. Dog cafe. This one up here is a Samoy cafe. What’s this one? A pig cafe. Oh my god, you just get to hang out with pigs. This is crazy. He’s picking up baby though. Oh my god, it’s filled with baby pigs. You can’t see it through this window, but Oh my god. Capy bar. You can hang out with capy baras, too. So, if you want an outfit like this, you can get them here, too. Like the doll outfits. Shockingly, steps away from Crazy Street is the Majangu Shrine. And this was dedicated to an emperor and empress that the people loved by the country’s people. They actually donated all of these trees from all over Japan. So as you walk through here, it’s literally like so beautiful. It’s it’s a man-made forest in dedication of emperor and empress. Before we enter the shrine, you have to purify our body. So you wash your hands and then you pretend to drink. Okay. But you don’t actually drink it. No, you don’t. Okay. There are tons of shrines in Japan and they actually have two different trees on either side which look nearly identical. One tree is where you pray if you are single. The other tree on this side you pray if you are a couple. And then behind that they have the shrine itself which is absolutely beautiful. And while you’re here you can actually leave some of your prayers I guess behind. They have like this little station where you can donate and do a prayer. It’s very sweet. [Music] Our tour is over. Cisco was amazing. I highly recommend that. We actually ended up getting ac inside of Tokyo train station and it was delicious. But now there’s no better way to end the night than at a rooftop bar. And so we are back here at the Alop Tokyo Ginsza where we’re staying tonight. This is Roof Dogs or I like to say roof dogs. You get it? Yeah. It’s like such a cool trendy vibe up here. Very fashionable, very urban. They have a VW Bug actually where you can order drinks which I think is so fun. And then you have these beautiful views of Tokyo which is amazing. And one of the cool things is you can do shisha or hookah here. So, of course, we’re doing that. There are a ton of options. I love a mint. It’s refreshing. And then double apple cuz it’s fruity mixed together. Let’s see. It’s always good. So good. It’s my one guilty pleasure is hookah. Just love it. [Music] The all the days have blended together at this point and now this is our last day in Tokyo. We are going to the train station to catch a train to Kyoto. So I will see you in the next video where I will show you all the things we can do in Kyoto. See you soon. [Music]

Very good
What a fun trip! Can't wait to go back next year 😁😅 my fav was one of the micro breweries we went to while you were at the spa 😂
So fun to watch you guys on tour! All the best to you both! ( and your cousin & her husband)!
You can add the Suica card to your iPhone (in Apple Wallet) and recharge it with Apple Pay. It's that simple. 😊
Fantastic video Sarah. Your first time in Tokyo, it is as if you were there for the last 20 years. You are so good at what you do and you set an example for every Vlogger in the world to follow.
As always, best regards, from Birmingham UK.
Your cousin looks like Uma Thurman
I'm Japanese American and spend half my time in Tokyo and half in NYC. I recommend Goal Omakase Sushi on the UES of NYC if you want to try sushi that is BETTER than most places in Tokyo. It is a takeout only place with very reasonable prices given the quality – they fly their fish in directly from Toyosu Market in Tokyo.
FYI, you can get the Suica, Pasmo and ICOCA transit cards in your Apple wallet if you have an iPhone.
Love this vlog! Great job editing and storytelling. This visit looks so fun (if a bit disorienting). Look forward to the next installments!
Pls don't visit Japan again. Overtourism
I visited Tokyo over 20 years ago for a few days ending a college breakaway program. City had lots of fun things and I did some Japanese karaoke.
Definitely will be using this guide for my trip!
You guys usually do such amazing videos. This was one almost entirely advertisements from sponsors. I know you have to pay the bills, but weaving some actual sites of the city and teaching us what to do when we travel would have been amazing. …but you guys are fantastic so I figure that you guys must have something in the works.
Sarah if you get a chance go to Fukushima & Battleship Island. Be safe & have fun!
I cringed so hard seeing you talk to the camera on the train
I’m glad I’ve already been to Japan, and I love it.
This video was pretty obnoxious and a huge turn off.
And you don’t talk on the effing subway in Tokyo
