What is the name of this Japanese version of Nashville hot chicken?
I recently went to Nishiki Market and ate something very similar to the photo. I am trying to figure out the name of this dish, especially the spice they used for this chicken, as I am looking to recreate this recipe on my own.
Its probably just american or southern american style? Flour and egg and buttermilk instead of panko style more common to japan?

Are you referring to Taiwanese fried chicken (been trendy as street food in Japan the past 5 years or so)? Or famichiki or similar from convenience stores?

Am I crazy or did you take the thumbnail from a JapanEat short?

It’s Nashville Hot Chicken. Being made in Japan doesn’t change anything.
