It was announced on the 17th that Orix have renewed their contracts with their first and second team coaches. They have completed interviews with all of them by this date and have begun assembling their team for next season. It has been decided that second team manager Toshio Haru (55) will be appointed as head coach to support manager Mamoru Kishida (44), who is in his second year in the position.
Haru, the manager of the second team, played for Yokohama (DeNA), Chunichi, and Lotte before becoming the chief development coach for Orix in 2023. He is well known for his enthusiastic coaching. Head coach Katsumi Mizumoto (57), who served in this position for five years from 2021, will likely be tasked with coaching the first and second teams. He is expected to grasp the condition of each player, actively exchange opinions, and make smooth changes.
The new manager will be Naoyuki Kazaoka (57), the head coach of the second team. Other positions will remain in their current positions, with pitcher Yoshihisa Hirano (41) joining the team as a coach.
