Sandy, sunny wonderland. Japan and beaches. Unlikely, right? Beyond the neon glow and shrines, turquoise water, powdery white sand, a local hidden gem. We’re going to dive in literally and figuratively. Okay, first stop, Okinawa. Oh my goodness, friends. If you took Hawaii and gave it a Japanese passport, you’d get Okinawa. In the Kuramas, join tours to meet sea turtles. A gentle giant gliding by. In Wakyama, it’s relaxation and adventure. After a swim, head to an onen like Saki. No. Seaside hotring. Pure bliss. For adventurers, kayak hidden coes. Explore dramatic rock formations. Fuel up with fresh off the boat sashimi. Izzu is a playground for everyone. Surfing is king. Rent a board, take a lesson, or watch the pros. Hike for views, end the day with a soak. Hotel or public onen. And don’t forget the simple things.
