Cute Shiba Inu Meets the Namahage in Oga, Akita 👹🐕
Today, Hachi’s journey takes him to Oga in Akita Prefecture, a town known for its Namahag creatures. Hi. [Music] The Namahag Museum has over 150 masks on display, allowing you to experience a dynamic world. Namahag is a traditional ritual of Akita. On New Year’s Eve, they visit homes dressed as demons, scolding the lazy and praying for family health and happiness. [Music] This is the Akagami Shrine Gosh, a nationally designated important cultural property located beyond 999 stone steps said to have been built by ogres in a single night. The five Namahag are enshrined at Akagami Shrine Gosh. [Music] Oga Aquarium GAO with its stunning view of the Sea of Japan is where you can meet polar bears and discover a wide variety of marine life from both Akita’s rich nature and the world’s oceans. [Music] A vast mountain range spanning Akita and Almori prefectures, Shiraakami Sanchi was designated a world natural heritage site in 1993 and is a valuable place with one of the world’s largest primeval beach forests. [Music] Standing in the Oga Peninsula, the mystical Oga Otaki waterfall. Its rare stream of water flowing through a hole in the bedrock creates a fantastical and magical scene. [Music] [Music] The Godzilla ride, where a silhouette of Godzilla appears against the sunset, creates a miraculous and breathtaking view as if it were breathing fire.
