Singapore – Rakuten Travel has officially launched in Singapore, inviting everyone to pause, breathe, and rediscover the joy of mindful travel through its new campaign, “Book Your Break with Rakuten Travel.”

In collaboration with Hvala, Singapore’s beloved Japanese tea brand, the campaign offers travellers a free cup of matcha at 111 Somerset—a symbolic first step towards serenity and a door to Japan’s rejuvenating escapes.

“At Rakuten Travel, we believe travel is self-care,” said the company. “Just as a cup of matcha offers a moment of quiet calm, we believe travel can provide a deeper sense of peace and well-being.”

The initiative follows World Mental Health Day and centres around Rakuten’s metaphorical Green Door, representing the gateway to mindful Japanese getaways—from tranquil ryokans and onsens to nature-drenched towns off the beaten path.

According to a Rakuten Insight Global survey of 3, 296 Singapore travellers aged 16 to 55, 82% travel to Japan to relax and unwind, while nearly 60% plan spontaneous trips to counter stress or burnout.

Calm nature escapes topped the list of ideal destinations.

To make mindfulness more tangible, Rakuten Travel’s matcha collaboration runs from October 10 to 31, 2025.

With over 600,000 accommodations across Japan, Rakuten Travel makes it easy to plan, book, and embark on a journey of well-being.

As the brand reminds, it’s time to “open the Green Door, book your break and come back better.”
