Tokyo 🇯🇵 Viral Restaurants, Famous Bakeries & Must-Try Japanese Food Spots

It’s time to go back to Japan. Currently staying at the lounge while waiting for our flight. Boarding! our in-flight meal Hello, Tokyo! We missed you. Hello there, we’re back in Tokyo for the summer. So we just took a taxi from Haneda Airport going to our hotel, but it’s still too early to check in. So we’ll leave our luggages first, head out to explore, and then come back later during check-in time. resting for a moment in the hotel lobby sleepy, but could’t resist exploring the hotel a bit found the ultimate chill zone in the lobby Our hotel is Mitsui Garden Hotel Jingu Gaien, tucked in a quiet area but still very close to Shibuya and Shinjuku. And right across from us, you can see the National Stadium. So it’s our first day in Tokyo, and we decided to head to the Aoyama area. It’s very close, just one stop from our station. Time check, it’s 7:30 in the morning. Let’s find a cafe first, have some breakfast and of course, coffee. You’ll notice the interiors – wood everywhere, dried flower accents, and a warm light glow. Ordered their signature french toast with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce. so fluffy and thick 🤤 pillowy soft and moist It’s golden brown, pan-seared, soft. Crispy on the outside, then soft and warm on the inside. Even the pudding knows it’s summer in Japan, it’s melting fast. found the ultimate chill zone in the lobby fluffy french toast coming through loving the cozy wood-and-books vibe Amam Dacotan is an extemely popular bakery that first opened in Fukuoka. It started drawing people in because of its whimsical and rustic interiors that feels straight out of a Ghibli scene, and of course the sheer variety of breads they bake everyday. It’s become one of those places people are willing to line up for. another customer patiently waiting… Amam Dacotan offers a vast and creative menu of breads, ranging from savory sandwiches to rich sweet pastries. So photogenic in here, and everything looks so good it’s hard to choose. The Ghibli-like vibe is real, the interior and even the background music adds to it. Popular items are the maritozzo, Dacotan burger, peperoncino baguette, croque monsieur, honey toast with fig, egg sando, black sesame rustique, and so much more. The baked goods have unique flavor combinations and abundance of creative fillings. Dacotan burger with homemade sausage, purple cabbage, & seasonal vegetables. Have you been to Amam Dacotan? What are your favorites here? We’re still pretty full from what we ate at the café, and we’re about to have lunch in a bit so we just had our orders packed for takeaway to eat later in the hotel room. walking along Omotesando We passed by I’m Donut and we’re pleasantly surprised to see a very short line, so we decided to take the chance. On our many visits to Tokyo, we’ve always wanted to try this famous donut shop, but the line usually stretches down the street. Looks like today’s finally the day, let’s go grab some donuts! finally got them! so curious about how they make these amazing donuts 🍩 Ordered the Pistachio, Custard, Raw French Cruller and Cacao. It’s soft, light and moist with a chewy, mochi-like bite. It’s not very sweet and has a unique silky texture and flavor. The soft, airy dough opens up to a smooth, creamy custard that melts almost instantly on your tongue. absoutely love these donuts! found this small temple just beside I’m Donut Their menu centers on omurice and basque cheesecakes. The Pakkan Omurice features a perfectly cooked soft omelet that is cut open at the table and topped with a generous pour of demi-glace sauce. It is then finished with a juicy Hamburg and a rich egg yolk. look at the pop of color that vibrant egg yolk brings Also ordered the omelette rice with Hamburg steak & a whole Camembert to try. honestly the egg-cutting moment is my favorite Being a small eater, I actually found the serving quite large. Excited to try it! Excited to try it! richest egg yolk ever We’re back at the hotel to check-in. So here’s a quick room tour… So that’s the bath area, a separate toilet area, the sink, mirror and some shelves. There’s even a small sitting area. Twin beds! This room is actually a lot more spacious than our last hotel room in Akihabara and that had twin beds as well. Now, let’s see the view. The National Stadium! Let’s see what’s inside – coffee and tea, water heater, glasses and cups. Inside are wine glasses, some plates and utensils; and here’s a small refrigerator with complimentary water. A big tv to watch the vlogs and a good-sized closet. Because of our late flight, we’re going to take some time to rest. So, we’ll freshen up, get some sleep, and then go out for dinner later. decided to have dinner in Shibuya Ramune and Shibuya beer for our drinks We ordered the steak bowl with buttered garlic rice, mashed potato and egg. This is a highly rated restaurant on Google reviews. Personally, I found the meat a bit chewy, but the flavor paired really well with the buttered garlic rice, the sauce, and the egg. See you in the next vlog!
