This is good news for those who choose to go to Kyoto, Japan during the Golden Week. The Kuromi train, Sanrio’s popular character, runs through Kyoto.
According to Japan’s Yomiuri Shimbun, Willer Train Co., Ltd. will run a special service for Sanrio’s popular character Kuromi Lapping train to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the acquisition of the Kyoto Tango Railway. The train, which started operation last month, will run for a limited time until December 5 this year.
Trains travel between Nishimaizuru Station in northern Kyoto Prefecture and Toyoka Station in Hyogo Prefecture. Maizuru City, where Nishimaizuru Station is located, is a port city located in the north of Kyoto. Yooka is the city where Kinosaki Hot Springs, which was visited by travel YouTuber “Kwak Tube,” is located. Due to its proximity to the sea, people who like the sensibility of Japanese coastal villages or small cities visit.
The train is engraved with Kuromi wearing special clothes such as △ body △ interior wall △ table △ seat. “The costumes worn by Kuromi were inspired by legends and historical princesses in the Dango region, which is now northern Kyoto Prefecture,” a Willer Train official explained.
“I hope many passengers enjoy the Kuromi train,” he said.
