100 Korea 2

Banijay Entertainment has acquired English-language format rights to 100, the musical gameshow format co-developed by The Masked Singer creator Park Wonwoo.

English-language remake rights have been snagged by Banijay Entertainment for the show, which was developed by Dituk Korea’s Wonwoo, Japanese broadcaster Asahi Broadcasting Group and content incubator Empire of Arkadia (EOA).

The multi-generational singing gameshow sees teams of amateur and celebrity performers whose combined ages add up to 100 attempting to impress judges and the audience by their performances.

To win the show, teams aim to score a perfect 100 from viewers and panel.

Helen Greatorex, head of format acquisitions at Banijay Entertainment, said the format offers “distinctive, scalable music entertainment, that’s fun to guess along with. The original format fuses Japanese and Korean creativity to create a universally appealing concept.”

The show, which debuted on MBN in Korea, joins Banijay Entertainment’s format slate for Mipcom later this month, alongside YouTube creation Let’s Play Ball, Football Island, Villa of Temptations and Foodish.

Third-party titles heading to Cannes include culinary format Atypical Critics from Pixcom International, featuring autistic food critics; and competitive knitting series The Game of Wool from Hello Halo for Channel 4.
