Only one ice cream scoop of wasabi?

    Don’t listen to the haters.

Not everything has to be PURE NIPPON HISTORIC ACCURACY

American/Canadian-Japanese sushi is a completely valid regional subcuisine and has a rich history.

And before all the weebs get all up in their feelings, I was literally raised on this shit

Both your last pic and this one look tasty, so don’t let food purists ruin your fun! Keep on exploring and finding more cool things to eat over there 😎

Food purists can say whatever but at the end of the day, chain sushi restaurants in Japan has stuff like hamburger and tempura nigiri lol. “B-but you can’t mix shoyu and wasabi!” actually that’s only a fine dining/omakase thing, casual dining sushi chefs don’t give a shit if you mix them lol. It’s like how greasy American pizza and brick oven Italian pizza are both good but comparing them is just stupid. I’m honestly not a fan of stuff like cream cheese on sushi, but some of the American rolls are good, it just depends. BUT tbh you are in r/ JapaneseFood so authenticity is often expected.

Is that kimbap? It looks kimchi in sushi? The ones behind look great tho.
