Japan Home for Sale – Fussa, Outside of Tokyo – Tour

Hello, this is Ron with Ryen Properties. We are back in Fussa. Had a couple properties in Fussa. As you’ll see, this one is a little bit expensive and not one that I could truly recommend unless you’re really wanting to live in this area for a particular reason. Here’s a look at the home. It’s built in 1996, 16.8 million yen, 118,000 USD, twotory, 4DK, 71 square meters, 120 total. About 11 minute walk from the station. Hey guys, Ron here. I’m at a home in Fussa, which is about an hour train ride outside of Tokyo station. So, it’s uh you know, in the Tokyo area and uh typhoon’s coming. So, hoping it’s not a big problem to get back home and the trains don’t stop. But I’m in this home here. It’s built in 1996. Doorways are quite high. Um this is 16.8 million yen. And to be honest, for the the condition I’m seeing, it seems pretty high. A lot of people want to get outside of Tokyo to be still connected to Tokyo. Um, just keep in mind that property prices just being even close to Tokyo are going to be higher. So, you know, for 16.8 million yen, I think in Coobe and Osaka, that area, what I’m seeing, you’re definitely going to get more bang for your buck. But just being close to Tokyo and connected the prices it just gets pushed up um you know outside that even hour hour and a half range of of Tokyo. So the airbases here as well so that might be a contributing factor. Um but if you’re wanting to keep in a budget and be connected again I always say Coobe is where it’s at. I love Coobe. I love the area. I think for the price and location being connected as it is with the Shankansen, the airports, international airport, Osaka being close to Osaka, all that, you definitely get more for your money. So, uh, keep that in mind if you are looking around the, uh, the Tokyo area. You are going to be paying more and probably getting a little bit less for your money that you would in other places. And that goes without saying, but um, thank you guys so much. Enjoy the tour. And on to the full tour. Here’s an apartment complex across the street and quiet neighborhood. Everyone’s living in homes, it looks like. This is the home right here. Small parking area. Um, compact car would be better. And if I parked better, I could get that whole car in there. Um, there is some cracking going on out here. And as you’ll see all along the walls outside. Get a quick glimpse over here maybe. Um, I guess it’s more on the other side. You’ll see at the end of the video. But here are some cracking. Um, it’s not on the foundation, of course, but it’s not a good sign at 16.8 million yen. I was pretty excited to come look at this home, to be honest, and the other one I had posted last week. However, once I got here, I was kind of surprised. Again, it’s just the the area and things are just more expensive. Maybe it’s Fussa in general just because the air base, but also probably just because it’s closer to Tokyo. You can see the walls all need to be redone, which that isn’t a a big issue, but overall there’s a lot of work to be done on this home. Here is the first toilet. There’s a toilet upstairs and downstairs. This one looks like has a newer wash installed. Here’s the shower area with the washing machine. You can see that one that the owner had still there sink that could use some upgrading shower. Pretty typical sizewise anyway. And it’s got the function there to fill up the bath and reheat the water. See, the wallpaper is probably not ideal for most. Here’s some storage that you quite often see underneath the stairs. Now into the kitchen. So, no real, you know, separated living room. This is kind of the dining uh dining kitchen, living room area, kind of allin-one. So, if you want a separate room for the living room, then this is definitely not the kind of style or layout you’d be looking for. Place for your aircon. See, it’s strung across the wall there. Um, not a place really close to the aircon. Place for your fridge. There is a gas stove. This is propane. A lot of the homes in this area were propane. Fousea is very reminiscent of Okinawa. Palm trees used just to feel kind of Americanized. Here’s the backyard area. It’s a maple tree that would look really nice in the fall. Coming soon. Has still been so hot here in Japan and uh quite humid, but fall is right around the corner. See a small shed on the other side that would come with it just for some storage. Not a large yard, but something there. If you have a dog, you can let them out. Here we are going to the second floor. And again, you can see the stains on the wall. Just a lot of wear and tear. All that would need to be replaced down the hallway with the second toilet in two rooms. We’ll get to that in a second. First, the one room here off to the left. Interesting walls going on here. Yeah, for 16.8 million yen, I would hope that this would be in a lot better condition than it is. You have carpet on top of a tatami mat on top of the actual tatami. So, that’s interesting. One way to preserve your tatami closet doors, everything basically needs to be replaced. It’s a modest balcony. You see the shutters there uh that are slid across uh on the side. So, that would be um easy to slide across and shut it up if a typhoon’s coming or if you’re gone for an extended period of time. Look around the walls and the ceiling. Don’t recall seeing too much water damage like that. So, that’s a good sign. But, as you can see, this whole room needs to be redone. Now, down the hallway to the second toilet. Can you guess what color it is? I’ll give you two guesses. kind of an interesting design separating the two sides. Couple bedrooms we’ll get to. And boom, baby blue. You probably thought it was going to be baby pink, but even in the late 90s, they’re still using the baby blue and pink color. So, might want to upgrade. That door wasn’t closing properly. might just be because of the humidity or there might be some tilting to the home. Here’s a room. See air con’s installed there. This data would need to be upgraded. Not a big issue. Here’s a look out towards the front. Some closet space and the wood floors here. This room is in better condition. Looks like a kid’s room. Had some of those glow-in-the-dark stars up there on the ceiling. Bay windows out of this room to the left into the second room. Doors shutting a little bit better. This room is a little bit small. A lot of closet space there. I think that’s where the stairs are. So, it just kind of limited with the space. So, they’d um use it the best they could. Little storage area here. No attic access that I saw. There may be, you know, sometimes they’re in one of the closets. Uh if an inspector comes and does the inspection, they’ll get up underneath the floor and up into the attic as far as they can go. Yeah, it looks like maybe there’s a little square area there. So, here’s a look out towards the other side of the wall. And as you can just see, it’s just riddled with cracks all over it. And I can’t really tell if those are just surface or the material, but it’s not what you want to see when you’re buying a home, especially built 1996. You know, you’d hope it would be in better condition than this. But these just these little cracks all over, they might be surfaced. Maybe not a a big deal whatsoever. Now, I’m not an expert on that, but again, I I don’t think it’s a good sign. If it’s something built in the early 80s or previously, even 60s7s, then that’s another story. But anyways, there is a home in Fussa. Prices are a little bit expensive here. As I said earlier at the beginning of the video, you know, Coobe is a great area to consider. Um, you can get some really good homes for this budget. But if there’s any place in Japan you guys are looking at, let us know. We can help. Here’s a home for sale in Fussa. I’ve posted a couple previously. This one is kind of the same as it’s pretty expensive for the condition. The inside needs renovated and there seems to be a lot of cracking on the walls. This isn’t a home I could recommend buying to be honest. But it’s a glimpse of what’s out there in the area.

  1. those cracks on the outside radiating from the window along with the door not opening would make me run from this one.

  2. That looks a bit naff, and the area is depressing. No plus points at all on this one.
