【熊本・天草】潮干狩り|海の見えるカフェ|ドーナツ屋さん【休日vlog】
Hello everyone! This post is a bit late, but this time I’m sharing my June trip to Amakusa! I was reading a book about seasonal ingredients and learned that June is clam digging season… I haven’t done any clam digging since I was in elementary school, so I felt like giving it a go! I looked it up and found out there’s a clam digging spot in Amakusa, Kumamoto, so off we went! Apparently , if you wave a flag or this flag with a button, a boat will come to pick you up. I wonder if they’ll know, or if they came? Is there anyone here? Look, the boat is pointing in the right direction , amazing ! It knows , and the boat has arrived safely! We’re on board! We’re setting sail! Apparently this is a fishing pond built on an uninhabited island! Wow, this is fun ! It feels great ! And before you know it, we arrived in just two minutes! What? There are cats , there are cats , there are so many! My husband, who loves cats, is confused. LOL There are so many ! So much fun! Oh, there are little kittens too ! Look! Aaah! (little crazy) Newborn kittens… heaven is here too! Cats playing in the cooler box I brought with me… too cute!!! While almost succumbing to the temptation of the cats, I decide to start clamming. I wonder where they are? I dig quite deep! So fast! They got it on the first try ! I bet they’re there! The sun is strong there , so I dig in full protective gear. LOL Digging and moving forward , I stand on the dug-up . The staff taught me the trick to digging 10-15 centimeters deep ! You’re so good at finding them! Don’t be sulky , I’m not sulking, do n’t cry, I’m desperately looking for clams! The staff member encouraged me, saying, “I won’t let you go until you’ve caught 2 kilos!” So I just kept hunting! LOL I caught a lot, showing the path of my efforts. How many tons? 5 tons ? Let’s weigh it up! Before weighing, they washed off the sand in the ocean. It got beautiful. It turned out a nice color. Is this how they’re shipped ? We had a professional wash them again… just missed 2kg, at 1.9kg!!! But we caught a lot and were very happy! The cooler we brought was full to capacity. I have nothing more to do, but it’s too cute, so it’s cat time. I learned that the sea, islands, and cats go well together when I came to Kumamoto. The weather is nice, so it feels great . A cat came to say hello, she’s totally smitten. Lol. Thank you to the cat who gave me food and gave me a ride on the boat on the way back . Take care! The blue sky and ocean felt great – it was a really fun and relaxing place! I’m glad the weather was nice – all good ! We caught 2kg of clams! The cat was so cute! Great! This is a new combination of cats and clams, and it’s a remote island . Kumamoto always surprises me in a good way – I was tired from all the activity, so I took a lunch break! We went to the cafe on the second floor of the resort hotel “L’isola THE BIRD”! The terrace overlooking the ocean is very pleasant! There are many Asian dishes on the menu, and I ordered the Asian-style fried chicken first! It’s delicious! It’s ethnic and refreshing, with just the right amount of spice and the sweet chili sauce goes perfectly with it . It’s a drink made with a type of mandarin orange called Shiranui! So refreshing ! So refreshing! So refreshing! The Amakusa Khao Man Gai! They use a variety of local chicken called Amakusa Daio! So delicious! So healthy, the broth soaks in! The Pad Thai, made with pork from Kumamoto Prefecture, was really tasty! It was a wonderful cafe where you could enjoy Asian dishes made with ingredients from Kumamoto and Amakusa! The hotel also had a lovely atmosphere, so I’d like to stay there next time! After dinner, we went to a donut shop for dessert! After ordering at the unmanned register, you pick up your order! The brown sugar coconut looked so delicious! Oh ! The milky donuts were soaked in syrup, and the juicy flavor was perfectly balanced with the milky soft serve ice cream! They were also sold in vending machines! When I got home, I de-shelled a ton of clams! Apparently, you can freeze any that you can’t eat right away! I learned that for the first time! My husband was so excited that he made me vongole pasta and acqua pazza, which were some of the best dishes he’s ever made! We also had clam rice and miso soup, and thoroughly enjoyed the clams. Thank you for watching until the end! We usually share our outings around Kyushu, mainly in Kumamoto, and our life as a couple who moved to the countryside .
