Our 24-Hour Fukuoka Challenge! (Japan Travel Vlog)

We are in Japan. And we cannot fathom that fact. We’re starting our Japan journey from the city called Fukuoka. But here’s the catch. We only have 24 hours in Fukuoka. So we’ve promised ourselves to make every single moment count. So here is the plan. First, get a one-day subway pass to travel freely. Second, collect stamps from each place possible to create my favorite souvenir in my entire life. Third, visit beautiful temples and shrines. Fourth, keep your eyes open at all times to enjoy each moment. Fifth, get a sim because it’s important. Sixth, try local food and sake from Ayutthaya. Let’s go. We got a one-day ticket that we can use for this date. Yeah, till the last train today, this will be our travel pass. That was so convenient and that was so affordable. I love that. This is the left side country. So the same room on the left. Yeah, I always stand on the right side thinking that this is the standing side. Look at this. So we just got down at Gion station. And we mainly came because of Tochoji temple and the five-story pagoda. But this is pretty cool that we have so many things nearby. I love that there are so many stairs. Beware. Beware. I’m considering this as a workout. See, I can give a positive attitude towards everything and it’ll pass by quickly. That was just for three steps. I’m already feeling like… Yeah. I guess, if I’m not wrong, it is the main reason we came here. I stepped outside to speak because I didn’t want to be disrespectful. But this place is beautiful. We’ve been to a lot of Buddhist temples. But this one is very different. These are the different other things. It’s very dark and golden. This looks like a postcard. This looks like a postcard right now. I want you to really take a screenshot of this and print it if you want. Use this as a postcard because this looks so so so beautiful. The fact that temples like these are right in the middle of the bustling city but still you cannot hear any of that. All you can hear is birds, insects, and wind. That’s it. It’s so peaceful over here. We just went upstairs. We were not exactly allowed to shoot so we did not. There’s a 10 meter high wooden Buddha statue. One of the most beautiful statues ever. And there are obviously around thousands of tiny Buddha statues all around it. So that was all beautiful. We just thought that we are here to see this and then we were going to go from there. The person managing over there said that you don’t go back from here. First you need to go in and experience what life is about. So we were like alright. We walked into this tiny door. Alleyway. It’s covered on both sides with soundproofing material. Like velvety sort of carpet material. And we go inside. It was really silent in there and really dark. And only the pictures were lit up. Very well defined and well carved out. Representations. There were various representations of what the journey is after you die. If you are all good you directly go to heaven but if not then you have to go through certain punishments before you can then proceed to the heavenly gates. So we understood that. And then I thought we have to turn back around. Because up ahead nothing was visible. When I say nothing it was like this. This is exactly what was visible to us. So I was obviously not going to go in there. And then I told him that is the correct way. I said no. This is the part of experience. And he was like let me just turn back. Because Tisha was standing behind me. I don’t think she saw what kind of darkness I was talking about. And I have never felt like something like that.
And it was like a 2 minute walk. And that minute or 2 minute that way I walked through. Or maybe it was 10 seconds but it felt like a very long time. I don’t know. That was insane. I thought that we can handle darkness. You think you can handle it. But that’s because you can hear a lot of things. Because you can feel a lot of things. And you can anticipate. You know what is there. When we just went in there. And I could not see any light up ahead. There was no end I could see. And we were just walking. And it was crazy. Then it opens up into a tiny way. Where there is a lit up statue. Like 3 statues of gods. And we were so happy to see that. That was an entire experience. You know you go through the hell part. When you actually do such things. You go through the hell part. And then you go to that dark place. And then you finally find god. Or rebirth or something like that. I don’t again. There is light again. What an experience. Too much of explanation. We always do that. Let’s move on to something else. I don’t know what we are moving on to. This place is so mesmerizing. And beautiful at the same time. We don’t even have a proper direction. We just started walking. And this is what the way looks like. This is just a normal path. People just take it. This is a general place. We don’t even know what is a house. What is a temple? That’s true actually. What tells you that? Feelings. And a well sort of a thing. I am not sure. I told you. Is this a normal house? I don’t think it’s a house. What tells you it’s not a house? It’s just so beautiful. Like I know for a fact that that is a temple. Then let’s go there. So this is a temple. Jyotindji temple. We will have to look for signs in English to understand. I am watching this anime right now. Called Demon Slayer. And the houses in that. You can see similar structures. Like that one right there. This place is such a contrast. Like right in front of us. There are big buildings. And the moment you cross the road. There are these structures. All in line. This entire alley. This alley was super beautiful. Is this called Tori gate? I am sorry. This is Nomon gate something. Let me just check. Is it name of a gate? Or is it a style of? No. Tori gate I guess. That’s the design I guess. I am yet to learn more about it. There is nothing that I can understand. This is the gated alley. That’s from the gate. We have reached the Waka Hachimangu shrine. And Tisha. You were asking. This is a Tori gate. As far as what I know. That’s another one right there. I think there is a prayer going on right now. So there was a private ceremony happening over there. So we did not want to intervene. And we stepped back. We did not exactly shoot inside. You can hear crows. From a place like this. If you are watching Demon Slayer. You know that. There are some things. I have no idea what you are talking about. This entire line. Told you to watch it. I know. I am still not interested. You were right. Some of these beautiful. Structures. Are houses to people here. I told you. These are their houses. I want a house like this. I would love a house like this. I think this is. I don’t know. I am not even going to guess. This is a house. This is a house. I can see that people do get confused. And it is written. Please don’t enter here. This is a house. This is someone’s house. Oh my god. That must be so embarrassing. For people who actually. End up entering it. I am empathizing with them too much right now. In my mind. Because you almost did that. I had to stop her. Three times from entering. You think it is a temple. But as per my understanding. It is not. Your understanding was 100% right. Thank you. What is that? Another house. Because we passed through that. You have already done. Don’t say now. We didn’t do much. What is that? Just guess. Does that look like a house to you? If you can read. Ignore this part. If you can read. Japanese. This does not apply here. But that does not look like a house to me. Monument. Very important place. That we can go to. We are traveler noobs in Japan. We don’t know anything. You still knew that this was a house. I am like a stupid person. I entered in someone’s house. Perhaps I am wrong. Perhaps you are wrong. Look at that face. What is that face? I am trying to understand. In Japan. You are becoming detective Conan. What is happening? It is green. Just got confused. Looking around. Yes. Congratulations. I am not the only one. Such big water. How much is the water? 139. 2 liters. If you get the actual brand. You will get 110. After taxes. That’s not bad at all. We had to buy a water bottle. I am very sad about that. This was exhausting. We were in sun for such a long time. I didn’t realize how much I wanted water. Until I had a sip. Anyhow. We got this. You don’t have to take it out. This is Japan. Sorry. This is Japan. Put it off. It was not perfect. How did you know this? I saw this part. I did not see. I am so hungry. You love these, right? Yes. Most flavorful. I love it. We are the most hungry. At this point. Wow. Such a nice one. I like it. Thank you. I am so happy. To this metro. That we are going to take. I think we would have lines basically. Just using a subway bus. I am so happy about such passes. One time pay and unlimited use. Such things makes me happy. Show me. Wow. Thank you. The way it just comes out of the other side. I really find this fascinating. The second metro station that we are at. It’s Tenjin station. And look at this. Look at the scenery. This is such a huge metro station. How far is gate 1? We finally made it to Big Camera. Which is a big subway. We are super tired. And we still did not walk the entire way. That was too much. That was too much. We have arrived at Big Camera. And of course at Big Camera you will expect to see Hedra as first. And then everything else. But cameras. But I should not be distracted by not seeing cameras. We just need a sim card. I think. Yes. I think we should be able to find sim cards here. It took us some time. It took us a lot of time. We thought that we will be able to find a good sim card at a convenience store. But when we started looking we were super frustrated because we were not able to find it.
We did get a sim over here. It costed us around 3,400 Yen. And we get 15 GB data. And unlimited access to over 100,000 hotspots all around Japan. And this is the net speed that we are getting right now. 55 Mbps. That’s very good. I found this shop which is right next to it. This is super cute. This is the entrance. And that’s the umbrella. Can you hold this tissue? Wow. You have a good choice. Squirtle. Do you have a favourite? I used to love Eevee. I don’t know if you watch it or not. You do not? What are you doing in Japan? It’s a exchangeable squid. Interchangeable. I like the black one more. I think black one is more cuter. I think the pink one is cuter. See, when you cannot make a decision, take something like this. I’ve never seen Himawari. Shenzhen. Yeah. Snorlax. We pulled ourselves out of there because we did not want to start buying souvenirs on day one. We have a lot of memories to make. And that is an awesome bridge. I think that was the harbour. So you’re supposed to bow and then you’re supposed to go around and then bow again and then go around here and then bow again. And then go in. That’s how you’re supposed to do it. There’s another big camera over here. Do you want to go? No, I’m very hungry. Me too. We are at McDonald’s. Let’s see how is it here in Japan. What’s new? I want to see what’s new. Alright. Pepperoni, juicy hot chicken. That’s out of order, isn’t it? Not available. What’s new is not available. So even though there were a few different options, we went directly with the ones that we are familiar with for the best comparison of different places. Starting with fries. It has a certain unique taste to it. But I like it. McDonald’s french fries are good in the entire world is one thing that I can say. This is different. I think it’s spicy chicken. But this does not look like any spicy chicken I’ve ever had. This has a new sauce. When I tried the sauce, it’s spicy. When I say it’s spicy, it is spicy. The patty is not that fat. The Korean one was crazy. It was really really nice. The sauces in it, I love it. This is very different. I got my grapefanta. I love it. You should try it. Grapefanta is not available everywhere and I absolutely love it. Right after McDonald’s, we came to Sony and Oh my god. This is adorable. Oh my god. Is it not the most adorable thing you’ve seen? I want to play with it too. I’m scared of actual dogs. It came into your hands, right? What is this? It’s creepy. Cry right now. This is the sweetest thing I’ve seen. I want it. How much is this packet? This close. Like this close. I’m already holding it. This close to buying a new camera. We’ve been facing a few issues with the one that we’re recording with. And we love to vlog, so we already know that we like to vlog whether or not YouTube does well or not. Right now, it’s not doing well. That’s why we always contemplate these decisions a lot. I’m not sure. Now. Because I want this one. So sadly, the model that we were looking forward to was not available in English. That was a little disappointing because we were this close to buying it. This was like a credit card. Take it. Usually, I’m not like this. I don’t make decisions like this. And now the camera has started acting up so I’ve started to get very worried. Anyhow, moving on from that, we are going to try the Thai. And finally, after exploring and wandering and wasting a lot of time just to wait for them to open, we’ve finally found some Thai. I think we’re already too late because I see that this one is almost full. This looks and smells quite nice. Right? We can try here. Hello. Giant mushrooms. I see giant mushrooms over there. My food is here. The Thai food. My sake is here. It’s so warm. It is so strong. But it’s so delicious. The flavours are good. Yeah. You have no idea how good sake is. It’s so good. How do I say? Oishi. Oishi desu. Oishi desu. We just had a few snacks from there. That is such a funny face. That is such a funny face. It was such a vibe. Yeah, they played some music. They were all hyped up. There were a lot of people. So now we’re looking for a place. That one did not have ramen. Now we’re looking for a place that has ramen. This is our second yata in the same day. We’re here to try ramen. That got grilled super fast. Thank you. I’m super excited. It’s going to be super hot on this side. This is where the flames were. This is the first bowl of ramen in Japan. First bowl. It’s super hot. I saved it. It’s super hot. How does it taste? It’s nice. I tried another bite of it. Char siu. Char siu is just grilled. It’s so good. I really like that char siu. It’s amazing. So that was a wonderful experience having food from a yata. I feel very fancy saying all of these things. I love it. It was such a wonderful entire day. It was such a wonderful day. We had so much fun, explored so many things. Saw so many things and were awestruck with every other thing. It was just a fantastic day. I have very happy feelings in my heart right now. But the budget went a little too up since we also got a sim and everything. So yeah, that happened. So let’s quickly run towards the last thing because I really wanted something sweet, a dessert. I got this one. It’s a chocolate frappe, I think. I don’t know the name. It’s in Japanese. But it looked really nice. It tastes so good. I’ve already had a bite. It’s so, so, so good. Anyway, this was our day. If you liked this and if you want to watch more of our Japan series, then do subscribe. I’ll see you next time.
