山口県北西部、日本海に抱かれる長門市（ながとし）は、
海と温泉と詩情の町。人口は約3万人弱（2025年推計）。

中心観光地の長門湯本温泉〔ながとゆもとおんせん〕は室町期の開湯と伝わり、
清流音信川〔おとずれがわ〕沿いの散策路や足湯、
夜間のライトアップが“滞在して楽しい温泉街”へと進化中です。

歴史をさかのぼれば、戦国～江戸にかけて大内・毛利の治世、北浦の漁場と仙崎〔せんざき〕港のにぎわいが地域を支えました。近年は元乃隅神社〔もとのすみじんじゃ〕や青海島〔おうみしま〕の絶景も話題です。

グルメは日本海の幸が主役。仙崎イカ、アジ、フグ、雲丹（うに）、サザエに加え、地元の蒲鉾（かまぼこ）や干物、港町の居酒屋でいただく地酒との相性は抜群。温泉街ではカフェやバー巡りの“飲み歩き”も心地よい夜を演出します。

宿は星野リゾートの界 長門（かい ながと）へ。
川に寄り添う設え、大浴場・露天、地域の器や意匠を取り入れた会席など、“滞在そのものが観光”になる上質さが魅力。温泉街の回遊とセットで、クルマを置いて呑んで歩けるのも大きな利点です。

アクセスは、羽田からJAL 羽田―山口宇部で約1時間35～45分で当日昼過ぎの到着が容易で初日から温泉＆観光に全振りできます。空港から長門湯本へはレンタカーでおよそ1時間30分（高速利用可）。鉄道なら新山口乗換で美祢線（みねせん）方面へ、乗継で約1.5～2時間が目安です。
