Welcome to the live blog! If you’re just waking up and need to stay silent (as to not wake your significant other) or maybe you’re working and need a less distracting way to stay up-to-date, I’m your silent reporter providing to-the-second coverage of everything that gets announced!
One thing that seems to be most likely (based on what I’m hearing) is a price announcement for the ROG Xbox Ally. I tested it back at Gamescom 2025, and was subsequently blown away by how much extra performance a streamlined version of Windows 11 can actually bring.
But one thing that’s made me nervous is one question: how much is it going to cost? Microsoft’s hesitancy to tell us gave me pause, but we may finally get a number.

BREAKING: Forza Horizon 6 confirmed – see you in Japan in 2026!
Jumping the gun and getting me instantly more hyped for the Xbox broadcast, we just got confirmation of Forza Horizon 6! The game is heading to Japan and launching in 2026.
Given GTA 6’s release date, I’d say you can expect this to drop either early next year or late — just to dodge that entertainment juggernaut. Forza Horizon is easily one of my favorite games to just jump in and drive. It’s a great reprieve from all my other more serious sim racing exploits, so you best believe I’m a Day One player,

ROG Xbox Ally price leaks give us a shocking indication

There have been several price leaks on the run up to the launch of the ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X, and one thing is clear: whatever worries I may have had over the cost of this thing may have been slightly exagerrated.
A leak from UK retailer Argos puts it at £499 for the Ally. That’s Steam Deck territory for the lower end model. That doesn’t answer the question about US pricing, but if we were to lift the price difference of the original Asus ROG Ally between UK and US, that puts my guess solely on somewhere around the $550 mark.
Now, what about the Ally X? That’s the unknown for the enthusiast machine. Given the MSI Claw A8 is currently £849 in the UK, I wouldn’t be surprised if a similarly specced machine like this gets the same price tag. But hoping there’s a little bit of Xbox subsidaztion here to absorb some of that blow and get this into as many people’s hands as possible.
Otherwise we may well be looking at a thousand-dollar machine.

We’re just 15 minutes from starting the showcase, and there’s another game I’ve been thinking about. Gears of War: E-Day looks like a potentially spectacular rebirth of the series — going back to the glory days. Could we see some gameplay and maybe a release date? Possibly.

Persona 4 Revival got a teaser trailer at Xbox Games Showcase earlier this year. Given we’re at the Tokyo Game Show, it only makes sense in my mind that we get a release date for this title.
The PlayStation State of Play yesterday excelled at giving us dates and release windows, so one can hope that a date on this steals my heart.

Is the game playable on ROG Xbox Ally? What to look out for

Microsoft has gone big with the “This is an Xbox” campaign, to the point that I’ve been left question “am I an Xbox?” But when is an Xbox not an Xbox?
That’s a more philosophical question for you to mull over, but more specifically, since the ROG Xbox Ally runs on Windows 11, there are certain titles that will not work. That’s where Xbox Play Anywhere comes in — a rather consumer-friendly move where you can buy once and play anywhere.
If you see that “Xbox Play Anywhere” label in the bottom corner of a splash screen, then you know it’ll be on everything. I’ll do my best to keep up with it too!
