ATP Tokyo Day 2 Predictions
Damir Dzumhur vs Aleksandar Vukic

Head-to-head: Vukic 1-0 Dzumhur

Damir Dzumhur is still a decent player and the Bosnian’s court coverage is that times breathtaking. He has not had much success in recent tournaments and he faces a tricky opponent first up in Aleksandar Vukic. The Australian has played good tennis in his recent matches even in losses and expect Vukic to just edge this match on the back of his superior serving capabilities.

Marcos Giron vs Sebastian Korda

Head-to-head: Korda 1-0 Giron

Marcos Giron had a good run last week in Chengdu with the American reaching the quarterfinals. His fellow American and his first round opponent here, Sebastian Korda, has had a troubling 2025 with him being sidelined due to injuries for some months. Expect Korda who hasn’t completed a whole lot of matches in recent times to struggle against Giron who has always been a solid baseliner but has recently established himself as a solid competitor at tour-level.

Zizou Bergs vs Alejandro Tabilo

Head-to-head: Bergs 1-0 Tabilo

Zizou Bergs has grown to become a very good baseline player especially on the hard courts with his forehand doing a lot of damage in the early rounds. The Belgian has found it difficult though to beat top opponents even at the 250 or 500 level and it is why he it yet to win a title in his career on the main tour. He faces a player who did win a title recently in a shocking result, Alejandro Tabilo. The Chilean will enter Tokyo in form and if he is not fatigued, expect Tabilo to move ahead.

Prediction: Tabilo in 3

Carlos Alcaraz vs Sebastian Baez

Head-to-head: Alcaraz 2-0 Baez

Carlos Alcaraz is the man of the hour and he would love a strong end to 2025, something which he has struggled with in the previous years. The world #1 steadied his game in the Laver Cup after a disappointing loss to Taylor Fritz and will be looking to finish 2025 in style over the coming weeks. He faces Sebastian Baez in his opener and while the Argentine is pretty adept from the baseline, there is a noticeable power differential between these two. Expect Alcaraz to start strong.

Prediction: Alcaraz in 2
