TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The KMT praised the success of its recent youth delegation visit to Japan on Monday.
Deputy spokesperson Kang Chin-yu (康晉瑜) said the trip was fruitful and that the party was willing to share its experience as long as it benefits Taiwan.
Delegation member Chang Wen-yu (張文瑜) said the group met representatives from Japan’s political, business, and academic sectors, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, and several think tanks, per CNA.
The group also engaged with University of Tokyo students on issues such as AI and regional security. Chang said the delegation was well received in Japan.
Chang added that over the past year, the KMT and its Japanese counterparts have held many in-depth exchanges. He said engagement with Japan should not be “narrow and one-dimensional” but span a wide range of areas.
Earlier this month, 27 KMT legislators visited Japan’s Diet for talks on disaster relief cooperation and Taiwan’s bid to join the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership.
